    Just the two

Smith and Warner. Not as much for their stunt of sandpapering the ball, as letting the young kid be the patsy.

A police car and a screaming siren
A pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete
A baby wailing and stray dog howling
The screech of brakes and lamp light blinking

    That's entertainment.

Stokesy just said both the standing and fine leg umpires made movements suggesting the ball was dead.

What’s massively frustrating about how we lost both tests is that they were both well within our control to win. The Aussies haven’t been exceptional whatsoever we’ve just completely chucked them. The first declaration was absolutely brain dead with root still in and the short hall tactics from 188/1 to 325 all out was some of the most brain dead cricket I’d ever seen played.

Valiant effort after the Bairstow wicket but too little too late, the game was gone two days ago. Got tickets for the next two tests let’s see if we can learn from all these mistakes. Probably drop Anderson he’s really showing his age now.

That's half the trouble we could and probably should have won both the first two tests but for some very poor decisions. Unfortunately Jimmy is really struggling and we need some real pace in our bowling ie Wood.

Get him to open the bowling after winning the toss.

I agree Jimmy's not taking wickets and he's looking tired but I still think he's the most economic new ball bowler we've got and given the right conditions he's also the best swing bowler. Wood opening with Broad could be expensive but keeping a below-par JA is maybe a bit of a luxury. Glad I'm not picking the team!

    You’ve got to laugh.

Some old fogey wearing a linen suit in the Long Room has a word with the Aussie team about their lack of sportsmanship and a couple of the cry babies react.

That’s not the half of it though, Cricket Australia are demanding an explanation from the MCC about it.

What a set of whiny, pathetic drama queens.

Anyone remember what what happened when Simon Jones snapped his cruciate in half in front of the Gabba?

    They’ve got some ****ing nerve.

If you can't cope with a room full of Rodneys (albeit a long one), timidly booing you then maybe competitive sport isn't for you.

Apparently three MCC members have been suspended.

    Get real.

It's akin to being gently nuzzled by a limbless kitten.

Why did the square leg umpire send it upstairs? It was obvious he was out of his ground, just whether the ball was dead. Basically bottled it.

The ruling of when the ball is dead-

The ball shall be considered to be dead when it is clear to the bowler’s end umpire that the fielding side and both batters at the wicket have ceased to regard it as in play.

The bowlers end umpire wasn’t even looking.

Next Test Bairstow should immediately pass the ball to first slip and then first slip to second slip and just keep the ball moving amongst themselves whilst Stokes shouts ‘ We still think it’s in play’.

Do that for the full session.

    Just to prove a point.
