When you consider that Wimbledon, Luton and Bradford Park Avenue have all played in the top tier............well it makes you wonder.
Anyone remember when Carlisle and Luton went up together, Carlisle top of the First Division for a while if my memory serves me!
Yes Dai, Only goes to show how fortunes can change, Swansea came close and Cardiff spent too long in the bottom league too. I think we all can spare a thought for Wrexham & Newport County.
I always hated Luton, I was about 13 and got a right kicking outside Kenilworth Rd, Cardiff weren't even playing although there was a game on; I was up there on a Boys Brigade rally, and went past the ground to a shop, about four or five of us had a whip round for a couple of flagons of cider, I was the cockiest and looked the oldest so I won the job of buying the booze........no problem the Asian guy in the shop would have served a 5 year old................ on the way back some Luton "hard men" about 8 or 9 of them attacked a kid they stole our Woodpecker, and broke my nose.................I'm glad the bastards went tits up
