Yeah, he is a good guy. It’s just a shame we didn’t keep him last season. He was one of the biggest factors contributing to relegation.
We also had a lot of issues across the pitch, in the dressing room and leading us last season. Impossible to say any one one thing would have made that much of a difference.
Well done Romeu, I can’t remember if Barca dropped him or Chelsea poached him, but either way it’s great for him to make the return.
Obviously I am too. But it just makes me sad to see him thriving when he should so clearly have still been here this season. Would have made a massive, massive difference for us
He didn't kick off because the club honoured his wishes. If we'd said no he may not have kicked off but his heart wouldn't have been in it.
That Lavia chap we bought in to play in his position was hopeless too wasn't he? Our problems were far more deep rooted than losing Romeu, much as I wanted him to stay.
At the time I didn't think we would miss him so much but with hindsight it was stupid to let him go. Romeu is the type of player that regardless would always give 100% - an absolute professional. Remember when he was dropped and not playing - he asked to play for the u23 to keep fit rather than complain. But like I say, hindsight is a wonderful thing!
we never replaced Ings effectively…Lavia was great, but missed so much of the early season which did Ralph and then Sports Republic took it from there
Ah yes the elusive Ings replacement. Maybe there were one or two gamboling on the sunlit uplands, certain not to be found by us or other clubs available and affordable in the transfer windows.
I agree and I also think it’s a case of over familiarity- like when people took freedom of movement for granted.
