Seems a tough start, should make sure there's no complaisance. After that it's good to see there's nothing we can point to as a straight forward month.

    They're all championship games

Makes you realise the difference in size between the clubs in the Championship and League 1. We're back in a proper league

Feel sorry for supporters who travel to away games. 5pm on a Sunday away to Sunderland to start with. I really believe sky is bad for supporters

At last the fixtures are out and we know this is going to be a tougher league than last season, so i believe we have several players who are already at Championship standard and im talking about Walton, Davis, Morsy, Chaplin, Broadhead, etc for starters, where do we think we need to bring in Championship standard players.
All of our first team squad will have to step up and im sure McK will be working on that but with Hirst seemingly out of the picture i feel we need a quality striker at least, whats the thinking about Burns and Edwards at a higher level? are our CBs up to it? personally i think they will be but some cover may be needed.

Looking at the fixture list does hammer home the current lack of incoming reinforcements. To the point where with Hirst going back to Leicester our squad is weaker now than it was at Fleetwood. I'd be very surprised if there was no irons in the fire but it still seems remarkably quiet aside from the Simms link, which feels too drawn out to match how Ashton has operated over the last two windows. Makes me think it might just be paper talk.

Although I do think the squad is good enough to survive as it is, I also think most of that is through the lens of being a fan, plus I don't want to just survive. So, hope some reinforcements arrive soon.

We are just glad to be out of that pub league at last, weve got new owners after 14 years of neglect and the Club has come back to life, we know its going to be a step up and so it should be but we are looking forward to great fixtures and big away support, one team last season had 66 supporters at Portman Rd, so glad those days are over.

I’m pretty sure I remember a cold Tuesday night in March when Accrington brought about 20 to Portman Road

With the greatest respect in the world to some of the clubs in L1, I am just happy that we will be back to some more recognisable football grounds next season

Also, What are your thoughts on Ellis Simms and do you think you’re seriously interested/going to bid?

Not sure I believe the sums we are quoted to have bid, but he’ll clearly cost a few quid
