AI is nothing to be worried about, if it does start become a problem you just "unplug" it or use EMP's to stop it and we can go back to a normal life where we aren't looking at screen 99% of the day for a while or using closed circuits that aren't connected to the internet e.g. hospitals using a database locally to share needed info. It will benefit us massively going forwards in terms of medicine, science, self driving cars, space exploration etc. and with all the scaremongering about it there will already be very high level studies of how to stop it becoming a problem in the future. The only way it would be a major issue is if it was programmed initially to want to end humanity and not, for example, drive a car or make a coffee.
Exacty my last point - it'll be human programming that would make it a danger to us as a species. I'm not an expert but my brother and best mate work in programming and coding and they are convinced (and have convinced me) it can be the equivalent to humans inventing fire, the wheel or electricity for what it could do for us. e.g. this article on the BBC two days ago - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-65988768 Amazing stuff and while its not yet there yet, if we can have it help cure cancer or paralysis or help us find a way to and reverse global warming or get us to a new planet it's got to be worth pursuing in my eyes. It's the old risk vs reward scenario and for me the rewards far outweigh the risks (at present).
Thanks the main concern. The world is run largely by Narcs who only care about their own control. AI can help in their primary aim of control.
I would hate self drive cars. Stop AI now, it’s evil. Let me glue my eyes to the ‘smart’ television by way of protest.
Love driving but if AI could drive cars and buses (all electric) it would be better for everyone - you could have one car for 4/5 people because the AI would know Dave needs to be picked up at sesame street and taken to the SJP Bog Emporium at 8.15 to arrive at 8.30 and then Timmy round the corner from the bog emporium needs to leave his at 8.35 to get to the metro by 8.50 and it would work it all out and make sure there are cars available.
A bit like electric cars, I have no problem with everybody else having a self drive car so long as I can have a drive myself car.
I don't know why people worry about the end of human existence. Nothing matters... that's the rule no1.
I wanna see what other planets are like and how we survive there but, that seems even beyond my Grandkids expectations. So who gives a ****
I think if that was the case then our employers would expect us to do longer hours at work. If we don’t have to drive they will ask us to sort emails and **** before we got into work. I don’t like the idea of AI because quite simply it will put millions out of jobs.
