Good Morning. It's Thursday 29th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road The silence is deafening More than a month since Leeds were relegated, all remains eerily quiet on the West Yorkshire front. With no ownership structure in place, no Manager at the helm, and the only piece of transfer news being Adam Forshaw being offered new terms, one could be forgiven for being a little skeptical for what lies ahead! The Summer transfer window opened its door over a fortnight ago, during which time we've seen fellow promotion candidates such as Leicester City appoint a Manager, sell (not loan out) one of their star players to the tune of £40m, and bring in the likes of Harry Winks from Spurs, Wolves centre-back Conor Coady and Manchester City keeper Zack Steffen. They are also favourites to snap up £4m rated forward Joel Piroe, who netted 18 times last season, whilst on loan at Swansea City. The disarray at LS11 will only add fuel to the fire as far as outgoings are concerned. Every Leeds player worth their salt has been linked with a loan move away from Elland Road in the last fortnight, prompting gamblers to take a punt at Leeds being relegated to League 1. A fortnight ago, Leeds, Leicester City and Southampton were 50/1 to go down. Now, Sky Bet have almost halved their odds to 28/1, and falling fast. please log in to view this image Leeds eye Forest flop, dubbed disruptive influence by former club Multiple media reports are suggesting that Leeds are preparing a bid for Nigerian International striker Emmanuel Dennis. Dennis, a £15m purchase last Summer, made twenty appearances for Nottingham Forest last season (mainly as substitute, scoring twice, and providing two assists (one against Leeds). His previous club, Watford, were pleased to see the back of him, openly celebrating his departure, claiming he was a disruptive influence in the dressing room. please log in to view this image Harrison up for grabs for £16m A host of top flight clubs including Newcastle Utd, Aston Villa and Everton are keeping close tabs on Leeds winger Jack Harrison, despite 49ers Enterprises being desperate to keep him. The club came close to selling the 26yo to Leicester City (for £22m) during the closing hours of the January transfer window, only for the Americans to gatecrash the party, and order him back to Elland Road. He ended up signing a brand new 5 year contract at the beginning of April, but multiple reports insist he has a £16m buy out clause in the event of relegation. If true, this would represent not just negligence, but borderline sabotage. please log in to view this image
Good morning all BOXT? . I hear the news we have all been waiting for is now imminent------------------------------------ waaittttt fot ittttttt----------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------NEXT MONTH
Morning all. Maybe the one year contract offered to Forshaw is as head coach Good business by Leicester and done early. Hopefully their manager turns out to be useless. Wouldn’t worry about Emmanuel Dennis being a disruptive element in the changing room as they’ll be no players left to disrupt. EFL board really ****ing us over
Listened to a really good Podcast with Adam Pope yesterday. He said the hysteria is just fans desperate for news but there is loads going on in the background and the club will announce when they are ready - likely next week. That is cool because I am at the coast next week, fresh air, seafood, good wine and plenty of positive articles about Leeds United to look forward to
Then why don’t the club put out something to that effect? A statement to say head coach process is complete, board structure ready and official announcement will be made when ratified?
Wouldn’t that mean the old ownership is still in place so they could appoint a head coach? Someone must own us?
