Nicaragua? In the late 60s, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador had a war over football. During a world cup qualifier, fans began to fight and riot in Honduras, in a game which Honduras won 1-0. In the follow-up game in El-Salvador, the away team got absolutely desimated and it resulted in massive riots both in El-Salvador and within Honduras. El-Salvador in response cut all diplomatic ties with Honduras which was supported by Nicaragua. Honduras in turn, decided to kick out thousands on Salvadorians from it's country, this act prompted a military invasion of Honduras, which mobilised it's own military and Nicaragua as an ally, sent it's army in also. There was only minor military action before a ceasefire was called between the three parties.
Gordon has been proper good for the England U21s. Assist last game, very good assist. Now a goal today.
Interesting that the U21's are using Gordon as a forward - obviously has the ability to play across the front 3 and we've also seen him turn out in the "8" role under Eddie. This season he'll get more a of a look in with that kind of versatility! Got to say the Eng U21's look decent - think Spain are the team to beat atm but our boys have a decent chance. Already qualified for the semi's so expect a few to get a rest later this week before the knockouts!
The Gordon bashers will end up sucking his balls and will attempt to put it all on howe rather than accept he was always a good player. Much like Joelinton where they make out like its a miracle what Howe's #turned him into rather than just accept they were completely wrong. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain that Joelinton had ability and the same applies to Gordon.
In regards to Gordon you are correct. In regards to Joelinton you are incorrect. People were lambasting Joelinton the striker not Joelinton himself
Absolute lies ... they bullied the living **** out of him and said he couldn't kick a ball. Talk shows ex players and fans took the piss out of him. I have all the files.
He most definitely could and I was very vocal in pointing it out. Here we go with the he suddenly became a pro over night fallacy...wrong he was always a good player mate. I understand people want to pretend it never happened but we all know it did and so did Joelinton. I was doing it with longstaff no excuses no bullshit I just was completely wrong.
But you’re confusing him as a striker with him as a midfielder. Well done on highlighting at the time key strengths he had that would make him a combative midfielder but what we had at the time was another Gui’varch and he was called out for it. You’re just lucky Clark got sent off
People were bullying Joelinton and taking the piss out of him. We all get things wrong but really we all know what I'm saying us true.
