From what I heard that is spot on , only problem He has is its not there to sign anymore, the club want to wait for more details of the injury. He should have signed when he had the chance but as you say his agent was more interested in his personal gains than what was best for RS

I never ever get any info, this has come from a completely random source that I'd love to explain but that would give it away but the club were very hopeful and were expecting him to sign before his injury.
The club is being ran so professionally now they couldn't afford to let RS sign a new contract that makes him the highest player at the club on a long term deal if he was going to play 10-15 games a season.
They would have to bring in at least 2 strikers that if we want that kind of quality would be on similar wages.
I think the reason he had a face like a smacked arse doing the lap of honor was locking around thinking oh **** I hope I haven't ****ed this up

Stoke offering RS some big bucks - we simply will not match their wage offer. No idea if Ross wants to go, or if Stoke can offer us the transfer fee required , but money may be turning RS head.

He can sign a Scholarship with us Ollie, but can't sign a professional contract until he has turned 17. I'm not sure how tying a Scholarship is or if it is for a fixed period

Wouldn’t be surprised and can’t blame someone for leaving if there’s a stupid offer on the table.

I’d like to think there is an end date to the contract offer from us mind, so we can at least get something for him. Don’t want anyone around the squad that really doesn’t want to be here.

That would make perfect sense and exactly what I thought may have happened, it was an awful injury and many players won’t be the same afterwards. Agent has gambled and it has massively backfired.

    Very sensible from the club.

I don't see how it's sensible from the club to take the offer off the table (not that I believe they have done that).

In my opinion, it pretty much ends any good relationship with Stewart and the club. If he is the player he was, he has all the power because we didn't tie him down to a new deal when he was injured. If he isn't quite as good as he was, then he sits out him last year, potentially as an unhappy player around the squad and leaves on a free transfer.

The downside of losing our star striker of potential premier league quality is far greater than the upside of saving a few grand a week. That's a gamble by the club that could massively backfire.

A hiatus sounds most likely, offer is still there but you need to prove fitness first. It’s due diligence on any incoming transfer and should be same on any contract renewal. No scope for bad sentiment, nothing punitive, simply good business practice.

The issue with that is that he wasn't signing the contract when he was fit because he felt he was worth more. If he proves his fitness, then we're back at stalemate. There's nothing logical about it in my opinion.

I don’t believe for a second we’ve pulled the offer.
