When it happens, we’ll say “Hello” and be Dancing on the Ceiling* (*I know not the Commodores, but Lionel Richie)
He'll take us to the river bathe us in the water. Rev Al Green fav of mine also covered by Talking heads Bryan Ferry, Foghat, Levon Helm and others.
Nineteen in total according to this. I know I have digressed, has he been announced yet? https://www.whosampled.com/Al-Green/Take-Me-to-the-River/covered/
I wonder what is the most covered song in modern times? To go back on topic, er...well can't thing of anything so come on Mr Martin be announced and like the House Martins give us "Happy Hour again"
Hahaha. Now the song is in my head I have to share it! Perfect backdrop to 27 degrees and uninterrupted sunshine today. Oh and a new manager! EDIT: I must share my favourite moment that I have listened to this song. My 50th Birthday we were in Positano and hired a white Fiat 500 convertible with Italian flag stripes across the bonnet and drove from Positano to Sorrento for lunch. Roof down 30+ degrees, Mrs No7 by my side, gorgeous and breathtaking scenery ....That's Amore!
Alternatively, we have the great actress, singer, and dancer Mary Martin, Broadway and movie star, who also gave birth to Larry “J.R.” Hagman. She could certainly help to wash the last couple of seasons’ rubbish out of our hair.
One of the most beautiful parts of the world IMO. We were staying in Sorrento, the last stop after touring down Italy from Venice. We hired a car and drove as far as Ravello. I had only heard of the Amalfi Way but no more than that so I didn't expect the breath taking views or the Italian drivers. Overtaking in tunnels and on blind bends with a sheer drop down to the sea was enough for me to take the car back the next day. Italy is my favourite European country. (apart from the drivers).
The views are as you say absolutely breathtaking and no explaining will do them justice - you have to witness them for yourself. The only other place I have found with views nearly as breathtaking is Santorini. Makes you realise that the world is a truly beautiful place. I did though channel my inner Italian blood whilst driving lol. The only way to survive! Driving in Italy is simple really. Disregard any road rules, honk your horn and wave your arms around. Then curse and wave the upturned palm of your hand with your fingers spread to the other drivers
I didn't really want this to turn into a IOAG travelogue but we've been to Santorini too. Now you've mentioned it, it's a hard call which is best but probably Santorini, sorry. Just to keep this on topic, I wonder if Russell has been there?
Well Jacob and Dan Sheldon both write a piece in the athletic saying we approached him and he decided he wasn't ready. But who knows for sure I suppose?
