I'm no expert on League One, to be fair, and his stats seem quite good for that level. He's 29 so presumably he'll cost peanuts. Maybe a late-bloomer diamond-in-the-rough type. Knowing me he'll probably be our player of the season. It's just hardly very exciting, that's all, haha. Can't be worse than Elyounoussi I guess. He's in the League One, Team of the Season; https://www.efl.com/news/2023/april/efl-team-of-the-season-line-ups-revealed/
To be fair, we had a few decent players in league 1, So it's not like it's something to be underwhelmed about. He would also offer some senior experience and leadership which we lack.,
Re Windass, he scored the winning goal in that play off final but he was pretty poor throughout up until that point. He was given player of the match at the end in front of his Dad who said ‘How did he get that then?’. That’s all I have to offer on the matter. Maybe he’s going to be stored behind a giant ‘break in case of play offs’ button.
Mbappe has had enough of PSG apparently. We should sign him before he realises we're not in the Prem any more.
Have seen him play on television quite a bit as I like watching Div 1 and he's usually impressive. If he doesn't play for us this next season he'll probably playing against us. His dad , Dean, was pretty handy. I wouldn't be dismayed to buy him and surprised Wednesday may release him.
General consensus amongst Liverpool fans is that they really do not want JWP. I think he makes sense for them as he is a better version of Henderson and they are low on home grown players after Milner & Chamberlain have left. But at £40m-£50m he would probably be a big chunk of their budget so probably not worth that much to them.
Phew he is not going there (HOPEFULLY).Liverpool fans would not appreciate him as the tweet shows with that word phew. Nob
If Burnley are happy to overpay then by all means sell him. I'd like him to stay but I wouldn't be upset if we sold him either for a good fee.
Henderson is past his best, his engine has gone. If he stays at liverpool next season he will be a bench player without doubt. It was pretty clear that Henderson was struggling last season and with JWP now in his prime, it isn't even that close.
What do you class as a good fee though? We will probably get £20m - which we could quite easily waste on crap. Tella is a known quantity and has shown he is capable of rinsing the championship, we would be mad to sell.
