Hope our transfer team are like ducks, gliding along on the surface, but paddling like crazy under the water.
We seem to have stopped throwing money at everyone like confetti
at a parade, hopefully this time we get in the players we need and sell those we dont.

I think the priority will be to get rid off many players first.
Our focus should be a striker, and a bloody good one at that. Let’s get rid of the dross and make some money then get someone worth the money.

Interestingly, Enzo, Badashiel and Madueke look pretty damned good, Chukw????, promising, Mudryk in need of a good coach and Chalobah at least as good as Fofana.
We might just make a decent comeback under Pochettino IF we get the right players in.
Looks like there is plenty happening on sales and loans below the surface.

    This.
The only essential signing we need is a striker to be honest.
Our squad could do with a couple other additions, but we need to focus on trimming the fat, and getting a striker.
Not fussed at all if we dont get Caicedo, plus after Cucurella and Potter, I am burnt out on signings from Brighton.
Mbappe is the pie in the sky signing, and Kane.
Realistically, with no CL, we will probably end up signing someone a little less glamourous, but as long as they can bang in 15-20 goals and don't cost the earth, then I will be happy.

The main priority is to get the GOOD players we already have, playing properly. If Poch can get our existing squad playing to their ability, then we should be good.
Because we have some very good players, people forget this.

Agree, M’bappe would likely not come and if he did would cost so much he’d disrupt the wage status. Kane surely wants a shot at CL So don’t see him as likely either.
Just hope we get a decent striker and as you say get everyone playing properly and as a team.

Nkunku is a possible though not tested at the top level. Oshimen looks good but expensive, forget Kane and M'Bappe not going to happen pure pipe dreams them two. On a brighter future note. Dude from Italy player of the tournament in the U17 Casadei is the business. if we can keep him.

I hope this doesn’t jinx it but clubs in Saudi Arabia look set to take Koulibaly & Ziyech, which would be sensational, particularly the former who I thought would see out his long, overpaid contract with us. Hopefully Aubameyang & Mendy next if reports are accurate, fingers crossed!

Its goodbye to Kante and Kovacich.
Such good players for us , both always gave everything and they played a big part in many trophies.
Seems crazy to only get 25 Mill. for Kova snd pay 89 mill for Mudrych. Such has been our transfer genius’ work for too long.
Hope Kantes’ injuries allow him to play well for his new Club, true legend and Kova too.

Looks like Mount and Havertz are off too which could potentially be decent money in for us freeing up some spaces in the squad. Not overly happy about Havertz going to Arsenal but if it means we recoup some of the money spent in the summer then it could be a good move for us.

I’m stunned that we’ve managed to get that fee for Havertz but perhaps in a settled team he’ll reach the potential he was meant to have when we signed him, which I assume is why they’ve paid that much.

    Indeed.
Whatever our scouts saw in Havertz that made them think he was worth dropping £70m on, so far I have not seen it.
He would pop up every 10-15 games with a brilliant moment, then be anonymous for half a season. Way too inconsistent.
He can run with the ball and has pace but taking people on? his shooting? his footballing brain? I have seen very little evidence to show he has that in abundance.
He wont have peaked at 24 so could improve, but....if he goes to Arsenal and becomes great, then its no ones fault but Chelsea's for not being able to bring it out in him.

Mount is a little more consistent, and has great movement and passing, and a decent shot. He still needs to bulk up more as he can get bullied off the ball by strong players and can get marked out of a game, but i rate Mount more than Havertz, so am wondering why Havertz is going for £65m yet Mount is only worth £50m!

I see more spark in havertz than mount but i agree, mounts more consistent and havertz less so.

I think i get extra frustrated at mounts lack of strength and speed. I much prefer havertz myself and i think its dumb we play him a false 9 which i don't think he's brilliant (his shooting is pants)

As for the price differential, it's probably because havertz has 2 years left on his contract and mount is in his final year. Plus the fact i rate havertz higher i'm surprised we are getting even 50m (guess english tax). I'd bite man united hand off for the price

I think we will live to regret Havertz goin. Nothing new for Chelsea admittedly...Salah, De Bruyne, 2 legends of the premier league we let go too early. Hey ho, **** happens. Funny enough i'm not too put out about anything that happens with CFC from here on in. From when i started to follow Chelsea in the early 70's to all the success up to now, i'm chilled. If someone had said to me back in the 80's that Chelsea would be European Champions twice in my lifetime i would have sent for the "men in white coats" ! You never know, Poch could mould the players left after this exodus and his new picks, into something special. Let's face it, if he could get Spurs to a Champs League final, the sky's the limit for us !!!

I feel a bit the same, the Club I grew up with is gone, replaced by foreign owned, greed driven management, like all the other Clubs have become. Players don’t know the meaning of loyalty and go where the money leads, and ridiculous, salaries and transfer prices have created a Middle Eastern led takeover of too much football ownership.
I will always follow Chelsea but it’s not the same when players wont sign Contracts and force Clubs to let them do what they want. It’s the same for all Clubs, so we just have to sit back and enjoy what happens. Still great players, ups and downs, and the best show in town.

Any idea why we’re signing 18 and 20 year old kids no one has heard of, yet not signed a single player we need ?
Arsenal now have Havertz and Rice, Spurs Maddison and we have ????????
If we dont stop ****ing Man Utd around with Mount, and pull the finger out, we’ll lose Caicedo.

We do seem to be signing a lot of kids, can’t be space for them all. We are now lacking in experience though, if Silva didn’t play I’m not sure who’d be captain, James?

We’re a couple of midfielders short for sure but there isn’t anyone who’s moved this summer who I’m disappointed we haven’t got.

We’re got no one we really need.
Now sold mount as well, good ridance as far as Im concerned, underperformer in every area we need midfielders to put in. No goals, few assists , just another kick bollock scramble midfielder who never matured nor improved.
Still sad to see a committed junior leave, so hope he finds the smothering atmosphere of Man Utd to hos liking. Jadon Sancho anyone ????

We will all start the season with the highest hopes for our club, as we have had since the day we started to support them. (as is the case for all true supporters). I am old enough to remember a trip to Hereford, in what was the second division, so whatever happens next season, it will not be as bad as this old dude has seen it.
