Very nice to see that he's already focused on next season and training. You can't buy that kind of commitment, im expecting him to be a star for us next season...

Ballard has also been training in Miami and Marbella.
I bet most have mate. They are all given fitness programmes to follow over the summer specific to their needs. I remember last year Patterson and Neil were pictured on the weights and they came back physically stronger. Wouldnt be surprised if Ekwah is focussing on stamina.

The lad is a unit. If he can continue his development we have a real player on our hands. With everyone fit we have competition for places. None of these "squad players" we had in previous years, genuine competition
It is one of our major strengths I think. Genuine ability deep in the squad. I think in modern football you really do need 20 or so match ready players. You cant get away with 14 or 15 anymore. Our squad is a remarkable teansformation since Speakman arrived.

Not sure we have like for like replacements for Clarke Roberts or Stewart but we certainly have a squad that is developing and if rumours that Lihadji is going to be a revelation this season are to be believed then I am really looking forward to it. Bennette has a few games under his belt now and should be more settled and Ba likewise, which should give us attacking options and that is without the new signings which we hope will be announced soon. the only real areas for concern are goalkeeper (I am not really sure about Bass as not seen enough of him) and a striker/strikers (we need some cover especially if Stewart does not sign a new contract) I know the club are playing hard ball with him and his agent so we will have to see where that leads but we could do with another 2 at least. all that being said that is without us losing any players to other teams.

Thoughtful post marra. We are developing a squad, and these young players will be growing into it. We're at an exciting period in our progress to try to get back to where we all feel we belong. We do need to add players, particularly through the spine of the side......Nectar,Jobe and Semedo will do much to fill those gaps..<cool>...as you say,as long as we don't lose a key anyone in the meantime, which I don't think we will for another season. Hoping these lads will stick with us and give it another go.
Next season is very, very important to us...crucial imo.......if we can stay injury free and get in the top 2,we can hold the squad together.....if we don't and miss out on the play-offs...that's when we will lose some of our more talented players.
Can't wait!
