I think it would be crazy to let anyone go before the coach and DOF are in place unless they have a relegation release fee triggered
Reports in Rotterdam that Summerville maybe on his way €12m (£10.3m) on the table and he is in Holland right now, but then he is Ditch? A clear £9.3m profit if it comes off
That's too cheap, £15m plus add ons at least. I know he's Dutch but why go there, the Championship is far more competitive than Eredivisie
Meslier gave an interview to L'Equipe, stating his position at Leeds is complicated, he has a contract until.2026 and hasn't ruled out staying here until then and wait and see what happens but hecwants to sit down and talk to the new owners ASAP to sort things out.
Would rather we kept Summerville tbh. One of the better performers last season and isn’t a sick note.
Only two words to say to that...queen & drama. Jeez if you liked L1 with Bates and Wise then you've lived through a lot worse than Gerrard.
Appointing Gerrard would be just another mistake to add to all the others by the club. It's a bit like the end of the season Jammy. You just become numb to the results after a while. You just start expecting the **** ups. Gerrard would be just another bad result. I'd just shrug my shoulders, hope for the best but deep down know that we'd wasted the first year of parachute payments. Like I say, I'd just be indifferent to it. We lose at home against Plymouth? To be expected with a gaffer like Gerrard. Shrug your shoulders and wait for the season to end.
Gerrard needs to prove himself. The Jamster gut feels he'd actually do ok with us but can't see the new owners not reading the room on this one
Michael Beale was the talent in that partnership. Gerrard was just the name up front of house. I'd happily take Beale but he won't be leaving Rangers. Even if Gerrard was given it. The fans are quite vocal about it and if he doesn't win the first 3 games in a row then our lot will be booing, calling for his head, want the board sacking etc etc. and that circle of negativity starts all over again. It why I'm all for Corberan. The Bielsa link will get the fans behind him for a few games which would hopefully be enough for any variance in results to start going our way. We're a force to be reckoned with when we are all pulling in the same direction but as the song goes, "we're a right set of bastards when we lose!"
So it now appears Rodgers is the man the 49ers want, the one Kinnear hadn't spoken to and will be in Leeds tomorrow to meet the clubs executives. Skybet and Bet Victor have reduced his odds from 16/1 to 6/1.
Kinnear had a 4 man list, Corbean, Gerrard, Farke and Parker, he's now narrowed it down to Gerrard and Farke. It appears Rodgers is coming to interview us, which would go with his reputation of having a big ego
Rodgers is absolutely right though to want to know what the project (ha ha) is. If the 49ers are willing to back him with loads of cash then he'd be a great appointment. Not becasue he's an amazing coach but solely because we'd be the team in the League with the biggest budget and then hopefully we return to the PL and kick on. If on the other hand if he's not interested we know the firesale is coming.
If my memory serves me correctly Burnley had quite a few draws at the beginning of last season. They were playing some great stuff but struggling to score the goals until eventually they clicked and the rest is history. Patience may well be required then as we bed in a new coach and his system.
Patience will definitely be the key, short pre season, just a little over 6 weeks form the transfer window opening to the first game and we'll be very likely fielding half a new team, so even if we're quick off the mark signing a few, it still doesn't give us much time. Can easily see us getting off to a slow start
Rodgers in from 14's to 8's with Bet365 now. Farke is due in Leeds Tuesday for talks, think if all goes well with Brenda, that will be cancelled.
