Well If we manage to Sell Onuachu/Orsic and loan out Djenepo/Aribo I'd consider that a top summer of the crap we really need to shift this summer. Diallo too, Hopefully he gets a buyer also.
You’ve contradicted yourself in two posts. First you say the clubs January signings were terrible and we’re run by amateurs and then two of those January signings are way too good for us in the championship
Hope we don't sell tall Paul. He clearly did not suit the press approach but has a good track record for goals and think could be cracking in the championship. Look at how many teams did well with the headed cross approach last season.
He’s been gash the last couple of seasons when he didn’t get his move to Arsenal. If he plays like he did a couple of seasons ago he’ll be great. Otherwise, will struggle to get into the team
I know his role at Saints has been bit part and maybe it's unfair to judge him, but for me he's about the poorest excuse for a striker that I've seen since we were blessed with watching Guido Carrillo.
How many chances have we given him in the box this season? From what I have seen not many. We almost need to play him alongside Che who can be playmaker as he did with Ings.
No doubt the new management will be the judge of that. He's been poorly used and not part of any real team, therefore his time with us so far must allow for that.
I would like to see us having flexibility and using different approaches, something we haven’t done since before Ralph. I haven’t seen enough of him personally. I remember one lovely curling shot from the top of the box, which was saved. But many feel he’s terrible.
Very true that his chances have been few and far between, I just feel he looks way out of his depth, he's never going to be the most elegant of players but his positioning, hold up play and even heading looks very poor. Added to that if he plays were forced into playing the long ball game.
In that case, I think you're going to be disappointed. It's sounds like Martin is very single-minded; possession based football as Plan A and Plan A only.
Oh joy. So when it’s clear that plan A won’t work after 20 minutes we have to suffer a further 70 minutes of doing the same, futile thing.
So instead of pressing then failing to do anything in the final third, we will knock it around at the back and not make it out of our half
Made me laugh, Thinking we'd drop our asking price, seriously? I'm sure the club can cover his wages for 1 year.
Reading between the lines it’s more “Teams are waiting for JWP to kick off about ridiculous asking price the club have set for him” Obviously our opening asking price was going to be high, we won’t get that for him, how much lower is what remains to be seen.
There's no club in the world that will think JWP is a 50m pound player at the moment. He has gone backwards with every backwards pass he's played over the last 2 seasons.
