Buzzin, great prospect had a decent season and got better and better with every game. Got a good player on our hands if he keeps developing.

Great news. Should be able to afford a razor now.

Seriously though he's class and I've been mightily impressed how well he's hit the ground running.

He has done superbly since breaking in to the side. Good luck to anyone trying to take the right back spot off him!

Protecting and rewarding a developing asset.

….. Under Tony Mowbray, Hume has been a mainstay in the side during the second half of the campaign as the Club secured a sixth-placed finish.

He claimed back-to-back assists over the festive period before scoring his first SAFC goal in a 2-1 win over Birmingham City in April.

Amassing 34 appearances in total last season, Hume’s performances earned him a spot in the whoscored.com Championship Team of the Season, as well as twice being named in the Championship Team of the Week.

After putting pen to paper, Hume said: “I am over the moon to sign a new deal. After the season we all had as a team, I felt like being offered a new deal is a good sign from the staff that they want to keep me here. I'm still young and I'm certainly looking to play games. Hopefully we can have another good season but there is lots of work over the summer.”

Sporting Director Kristjaan Speakman added: “Trai was very patient in his first twelve months and worked tirelessly to refine his game. Since the new year he’s gone from strength to strength, grown in confidence and his performances merit an improved and extended contract. He’s a great example of what’s possible at Sunderland AFC for young players and we are all really pleased for him and naturally pleased for ourselves that he’s committing to the club.”

Massive. Picked up from nowhere and turned into a very good Championship player. The model works!
