Going to be an interesting summer. Think it's no coincidence we are buying/targeting bigger lads, but I hope we don't ignore the need for smaller, technical players.
Really hoping we see more of Lihadji with a full pre-season under his belt, not to mention getting all the injured lads back and keeping them fit.

I know Evans is out until the New Year potentially, but are all the other lads expected back 1st day of pre-season? Maybe Roscoe a couple of weeks behind?

I think our current best Xl is big enough to be honest.

Hume/Ballard/Bathh/Cirkin are all capable in the air, Ekwah and Stewart both massive. The problem was we were playing with 1 or 2 of them in the squad for the best part of 2 months. The main thing is having the cover - Alese, Triantis, O’nein, hopefully another versatile full back because Huggins is never fit and another striker will be enough.

Selfishly, I'd like 2 strikers even if one is a young un like Leaburn at Charlton.
I'm not connived Stewart can stay fit - feels like 2021/2 season was the anomaly - he's had a few injuries over his career. We cannot be left without strikers again - you can forgive it once, but not twice

Bellingham is set to join the Black Cats from Birmingham City, with the framework for a deal worth around £3m already in place. While there have been suggestions in recent days that the two clubs are still some way apart in their valuation of the 17-year-old, who is the younger brother of England international Jude, it is understood that a deal is effectively agreed.

Bellingham attended the Stadium of Light last month to watch the second leg of Sunderland’s play-off semi-final with Luton Town, but is currently in Portugal with the England Under-18s squad preparing for the International Tournament of Lisbon that begins tomorrow.

Bellingham, who skippered England Under-18s in their most recent outing in March, is set to feature in matches against Norway, Australia and Portugal, and should be confirmed as a Sunderland player once his international duties are at an end.

Talks with Semedo have been similarly positive, with the 19-year-old striker close to sealing a move to the Stadium of Light.

Provided he is able to secure the necessary documentation needed to play in England, Semedo will join the Black Cats as a free agent following his release from Benfica, where he spent last season playing for the Portuguese club’s B team.
