I think a really good side effect of our positivity around our club, is how little we have all given a **** that they got CL.

If we’d still been in League One owned by tweedledum & tweedletwat, that would have bit hard.

Instead, it’s been ‘fair play to them they earned it’ and onto ‘what we doing next’.

I can’t thank the owners and Mogga enough for that. Painless because of the pride, if this makes sense?

Fair enough, just shows how far weve come in terms of our recruitment

I like him and think he has big upside but i seem to say that loads about the players we are linked with these days - its so refreshing

I spent years moaning to @Jarca that we should be signing young players and we are finally doing it

Im actually buzzing about this summers window, i reckon we will make some unreal signings (clinging to the hope that amad is one of them!!)

Even the older players we've brought in, have been ideal for the development of the youngsters. Winny was probably the first, and by all accounts here was great behind the scenes. Same with Bailey-Wright. Gone are the days when a Jack Rodwell will roll up here.

I read nothing into it myself.

it makes no sense for somebody with three years on their deal to sign a contract at start of summer. It won’t affect his price. If Palace want to bid £25-30m for him they’ll do that no matter how many years are on his deal.

we are under no pressure to sell now. And won’t even be next summer. So no need to extend for either us nor him. Both parties are better off waiting until the end of the window or even next summer as his salary will be even higher if he waits (it’s not like hes demanding more money)

Also the tweet says “questions raised” as if he’s reporting on questions being raised. He isn’t. He’s the one raising the question. Unfortunately people won’t read the story and will assume bad news.

And people already on twitter using this as a stick to beat Speakman with. Feck that. This is nothing to do with him.

We are a championship club with one of the best players in the championship who happens to be young, English and exciting to watch. Of course there’s going to be interest ffs and of course we should at least be willing to test the market. The difference £30m would make to our recruitment is insane.

Common sense doesn’t exist on Twitter mate, I think jack will still be here next season, the way the spurs move went will benefit us imo

It seems to be becoming a common trend that if a player has a good season they instantly have to sign a new contract.

City are reportedly doing it with Haaland. He has 4 years left on his contract doesn’t he? Daft.

If Jack is happy here, which by all accounts it sounds like he is, and he still has 3 years on his contract then I don’t see an issue.

He signed a 4 year contract last summer, there would need to be a significant fee involved for him to go, min 25 million in my opinion.

Theres no rush to sign clarke to a new contract. Theres other things that take priority over this at the minute. Im sure theyll want to reward him with a new contract at some point over the summer but i wouldnt be stressing over that article

To be honest I think half these people just regurgitate what has already been written so long as they get more clicks. It seems as if Jack is happy and to be fair it's not often you get an Agent who seems like he wants his client to stay put. If he goes he goes but I feel like he will stay as another season tearing up the championship will do his career the world of good

Ive seen folk commenting on fan pages that we are joke of a club selling our best players based on this article!!

Folk need to chill, we havent sold him or said hes up for sale.

His agent literally just came out and said how happy him n clarke have been with sunderland and how hes progressed

Haaland is a special case, he has a release clause and they think they can convince him to remove that because he loves the league and him and Grealish are pure besties.

Sensible on their part, I can’t remember what the release clause is but it was ‘someone will pay that’ level.
