January Mr Sunak said: “I want to make five promises to you today. Five pledges to deliver peace of mind. Five foundations, on which to build a better future for our children and grandchildren. June The promises and pledges are becoming priorities and intentions. But we can all trust them, they've come up with another brilliant idea ... ... they're spending more taxpayers money on an advertising campaign to tell Albanians that coming to Britain illegally is illegal. This is presumably aimed at Albanians who live entirely without the internet or any kind of news media and try to sneak into Britain, on a dinghy, because they hadn't realised it was illegal. It's absolutely laughable that they think we'll fall for this drivel.
Advertising company will be owned by a Tory donating chum from Eton and Oxbridge. Job's a gud 'un as far as this government are concerned
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/sunak-boris-johnson-covid-messages-b2351109.html Here’s maybe why Johnson is sharing his messages and others aren’t so keen. Johnson will only do something that gives him power or gets him revenge. Sunak is about to become the target for 60% of his own party. Bet we still don’t get a general election
hemp!!! could solve a lot of world problems but the world leaders turn a blind eye to it...you have to wonder why when it would save billions of tonnes of mining and offer jobs to those thrown into the mining, if they REALLY wanted to save the planet hemp is a good start. these 'G' meetings are just the money men trying to ensure they keep making billions while trying to look as if they care about the planet.
There is something massive brewing around these messages and this really wouldn’t surprise me. Cabinet taking their own investigation to court just stinks of desperation.
They tell us they will focus on delivering and in fact are arguing and covering up their self obsessed corruption and manoeuvring to retain power. If they actually focused on making life easier for everyone but rich people and corporations people might actually vote for them.
Tbf the spend is a different thing from organizing and sourcing things. Do we think KLD is doing the scouting, for example. Accountability and culpability where it's supposed to lie should be the mantra of the inquiry. Otherwise we might as well have a government made up of a single person.
Their next advertising campaign is to write to all MPs to tell them to stop fiddling their expenses like they have been doing over the last 50 years, and to please stop doing it as it’s illegal. There that should be an end to that.
It is different aye but as everyone related to or neighbour of or donor of anyone connected to the Tories were in the fast lane if you think the 2nd in charge and the man administering the budget knew nowt you’re very naive. https://www.theguardian.com/world/v...ntracts-given-to-firms-with-ties-to-mps-video you make your judgment from this though I can guess. To me he is clearly saying ‘we ****ed up but let’s defend ourselves and I’d like to separate myself from health while I’m on so I can oust Johnson’. Prior to this he was taking credit. I suspect we’ll find out soon enough they all had their snouts in the trough. His wife is directly benefitting from his childcare reforms and he reduces his tax contribution by donating to Winchester Private School. He’s not an innocent.
I didn't say he was innocent. However, he would be way down the scale of culpability on this. I'd be looking at the health secretary and the NHS administration first as they're those responsible for making correct decisions on procurement. You wouldn't want him micromanaging every penny spent. Just as you wouldn't want the health secretary implementing policy with no advice from specialists. I think we're underestimating the level of panic that was going on, and also the awful behaviour of those who knew they couldn't deliver but took the money anyway.
All parties stink when it comes to expenses. Fair enough to get travel and get comfortable overnight because of the nature of the work and it’s location but food, beer, luxurious environment busting travel like plane fight, high class London mews, clothing etc all wrong in the context of the poverty on the uk and the failure to invest in tackling it I’d even say legal costs if it’s for an individual. If a vulnerable person being violently abused can’t get help why a well paid MP.
This was number one cost and number one priority and the type of borrowing used for this was a risk to inflation. I’d say he will have been fully involved, but he’s good at hide and seek. https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news...ocates-15bn-for-personal-protective-equipment
Seriously is there anyone or anything he hasn't fu*ked up ... ... his greatest achievements are in his head.
I have been watching, with mild interest, the seeming never ending stories about the labour party and how they are blocking lots of candidates chosen by the local grassroots. It is being called a purge of the left. Andy Burnham has now stated the latest move to block a candidate undemocratic. It strikes me Starmer is turning the westminster party into one that doesnt represent the grassroots labour movement. I wonder if he lives to regret this once in power, you would think he might.
