We only haven't paid rent on Elland Road for the first 3 years since Radz bought it. The club have a lease until 2032 of which the first 33 months was rent free. Audited accounts for July 2021 show that £5.9 million of accrued rental income was written off in respect of the Elland Road lease under the agreement of 33 months of a rent free lease. In the July 2022 audited accounts, showed that the club owed £700k+ in respect of the lease on the ground. Doesn't say if some has been paid or if this is the whole amount for the financial year Maybe I am misinterpreting the information within the accounts, so someone with more experience I am sure will be able to correct me
Hopefully. If not then we are pretty much back in a Bates style ownership. We could be in for another 16 years of **** here. Heartbreaking.
He didn’t buy the ground for the fans as many would have had you believe at the time. Separate company now charging the club rent each year. No problem with that just can’t stand the crap that it was some massive gesture or a present to the fans. He can sell the club and still hold onto the ground. Just sort out a 99 year lease or whatever and get back four times what he paid for it over next few years
No that won’t happen as he’s the greatest owner we’ve ever had and maybe even the greatest football owner ever of any club
Just for devilment I looked up radrizzani on wiki And I note with great joy that he was born in a pond in Italy and he is the odious owner of Leeds United I just love these comedians Don’t trust the fella and never have done
Correct. It’s an investment that he can do what he wants with and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. We knew that when he bought it so no point in moaning about it now.
He’s the best owner since Leslie Silver who in turn was the best owner since Manny Cousins. Certainly an improvement on Bates, GFH, Cellino but admittedly a low bar.
My own view is that Cooper and Ayling should be retained but for the bench and their experience. Forshaw should be sold or moved on. Think we will lose Gnonto, Adams, Roca, Llorente, Rodrigo, Summerville, Sinisterra, Firpo, Koch, Harrison. We will use Cresswell, Wober, Kristensen, Gyabi, Bate, Gelhardt, Perkins, Joseph and some new signings maybe even loans
No point moaning about or questioning the motivations of Radz if this deal of his is true ? At the least this is hardball to extract more from the 49'rs, at the worst it is mortgaging this club to a failed Italian one. Either way shows a level of contempt which Leeds as a club can do without at a time when their minds should be focused on other areas.
I always wonder when fans go overboard with praise and adoration for an owner. Yes he bought the ground but not for the club. Everything has been done just to make a fortune. Would he stop the 49ers sale by putting a relegation clause in? Surely not. Of course he would why accept 150 million when you can get 400.49ers will not pay that now and without owning the ground how can they be expected to improve it. Would you pay for extensive renovations on a rented run down property?. No me neither. Rads could now play the long game and try to gain promotion as he has already stated. I think he will stay and sell off the best players and indeed any that want out. Crocks like cooper will try for a new contract but rads says changes are needed. It now remains to be seen if he has learnt anything in six years about running a club properly.
How'd take 20m for Rutter? I know its a big loss, but it's the same amount Borisia Dortmund paid for Erling Haaland three years ago. He's a 21yo that has some talent. Our expectation levels are high, ONLY because of his price tag.
Bate is league 1 at best. Cooper is fooked and should be gone to league 1 as well. Sinisterra may be hard to sell and we might have to get him fit first and sell in january. Sorry but Gelhardt for me is too slow. What about Greenwood who just never shows up.
