Did I say they weren't? My comment was about Marsch.

I have other opinions about both Gracia and Allardyce.

Well you said you didn't think you'd ever seen a prem manager as tactically out of his depth as Marsch, which implies you thought Gracia and Sam were less out of their depth tactically. Hey maybe they were 'tactically better', but sh*tter at other things, net effect wasn't an improvement.

On a different topic, a lot of the players who are now in the get rid / are total crap bucket, were (usually) regarded as ok / good at least for a while after they joined, OK, Firpo possibly excepted.
Where did it go wrong for each one? Struijk was once seen as capable, ditto Kristensen, but they all seem to have faded or had the fans decide they're just not up to it. Did having multiple managers and changes in tactics play a role in this - though lots of teams change formations and tactics depending on the opposition.

Mental. A loss of confidence can hugely affect a players performance.

The whole squad is mentally weak.

Well that's one way of interperating my comment I suppose.

Yes I believe that Gracia and Allardyce have better tactical ability then Marsch but this is based on their past achievements in the Premier league, not this season.

I disagree because wober /rodrigo/adams/ayling are not and nor is robles.

Yep, I get that argument. I nearly agree with it fully too.

Wober was great when he first came but after injury even he started to make mistakes under the pressure. These were mistakes he wasn't making when he first signed. The first cracks were showing with him. Jury is out.

Rodrigo has too much ego. Great player, wears his heart on his sleeve but sulks if things don't go HIS way even if it helps the team. He won't be here next season as his ego will think he is better than us even though he was part of the team that sent us down. Months avatar on that if anyone wants it.

I'll give you Adams. He's been solid. Will anyone activate his 30 million release clause or will he be stuck here?

Ayling admitted that he had nothing left after half time against West Ham. That's a weak excuse. Thanks for everything Luke but bye bye then.

Robles started losing the plot doing weird stuff in the Newcastle game. Pressure got to him. An accident waiting to happen. Sell Meslier, put Robles on the bench behind a new first choice. Robles is out of contract by the way.

A further question on Wober.

Is he really that good or does he just look good because the rest are so ****?

I've a feeling he is a bang average Championship level defender.

I think I agree. thought Roca went the same way. Started brightly, getting stuck in, then faded away. So what's the root cause - the manager(s)?

I remember pundits on MoTD raving about Aaronson, Llorente, Koch, Firpo, McKennie, Kristensen, Summerville, Gnonto and more but guess what most of these turned out as flops since the WC and what they all had in common was the last 4 coaches, changed tactics, ending up with Sam playing 6 defenders in a game we needed to win.
