Just to go off at a tangent, I knew someone in a band (not at all famous) who wrote a song about a girl called Entie, and how he felt when she went away. The song was entitled 'See You, Entie'. The last time I saw him, he was working on a follow up, called 'If You See Kay'
I agree to an extent. I just think that if they had gone for someone with a bit more of a track record of getting out of the league, or managing with more of a budget I’d be more optimistic of an immediate return. Just a name off the top of my head someone like Parker has been promoted twice from the Championship, both with relegated sides. Not writing Martin off before he’s even in the door of course; and all managers have to start somewhere. Just hope he is the right man.
Leeds going for Carlos Corberan from West Brom, who finished level on points with Martin's Swansea last year but scored and conceded less goals. Boring.
I like the way that you can tell it to how to respond in different styles like Shakespeare or in Rap. The most impressive thing is the speed. Literally seconds
Makes a lot of sense for Leeds. I did think they might go for him. He did a good job with WBA last season (they'd have comfortably made top six, and might even challenged top two, if he'd been in charge all season), and must know Leeds very well from his time working there under Bielsa. I've got no idea who Leicester might get though.
Pretty sure Leeds went in for him before they got Gracia but he wanted to finish the season with West Brom
I don't know if this is true https://www.hampshirelive.news/spor...l-martin-southampton-swansea-contract-8485134
Surely they must realise we haven’t played like a Premiership side for about 8 months, so even if we had got him in Jan we’d pay the lesser amount….
I'd say that was us messing about TBH. If we made the approach as a PL club we should pay the PL compensation.
Yeah I’m not sure how Swansea are supposed to have moved the goal posts here as we did approach them as a PL club and I don’t think our PL ‘share’ has transferred yet. Most Saints thing in the World would be to agree the target, agree personal terms, quibble over 750k (let’s be serious, even if they saved that it would not be invested in any ground level jobs at the club) and have Leicester or Leeds simply swoop in, pay the full rate and sign him up.
There’s no approach to be made, it’s a release clause and Martin won’t be coming in to manage a PL team or taking charge of PL fixtures. We had a manager under contract for the PL fixtures and he departed after the final game.
Is almost certainly what we are saying, is not the spirit of the clause regardless of its wording and certainly won't get us what we want, or indeed win us any favours with a club we are about to try and do some business with.
