If the yanks manage to take over it’ll be odds on a USA manager and dof based on the nonsense of the past year. Probably where we should be looking for clues. I’m going to have to modify my ten game rule for next season too as so many of our signings never get to Play ten games anyway
One minute I’m thinking Brendan Rogers was in the frame and interested (admittedly because some one else seemed to be getting the Tottenham job) now we’re looking at Allardyce and Gerard
Rodgers is meant to be going North London way and there's talk of Potter as well. The only rumour I believe is the Allardyce one at the moment
Spurs innit. I think the Rodgers rumours were there to level out Spurs fans expectations when they get their 11th choice manager in Mick McCarthy
If they give it to Slippy G at least he's still got connections and might get as couple of decent loans etc.
Did anyone notice how poor Robles positioning was for the second goal on Sunday ? Way too close to his near post when the striker was always going to go across goal. Does beg the question as to whether he's good enough for next season ? Personally if we don't get a big money offer for Meslier I'd rather keep the young Frenchman and let him rebuild his confidence and reputation.
Think we need to be realistic about who we can actually get. Gerrard wouldn't be the worst by far and is probably not far off actually being one the best we might attract. It's a massive yes from me if only to get rid of Allarderci who's another all talk ****er.
I agree he was a bit over-protective of his near post. But they’re taught to err to that side… the shot across the goal from a right footed player will typically swerve away from goal so it’s a harder shot to make. Look how often meslier showed too much of his near post and was beaten there. In this case, Porro stuck it in the corner - fair play. Is Robles good enough for the champ? Genuinely Dunno… but if you have a spare a week I’ll take you through meslier’s fck ups this year bud. Grieves me to agree with Jamie Carragher but he said the sides with the worst 3 starting keepers got relegated. He’s right.
Not sure what candidates there are but I hated the football Villa played under Gerrard, so hoping to watch us play something better style than that. The Kent link just gets tedious now.
I did read some time back from the football journalists (usual media) that Gerard was Radz preferred choice to replace Bielsa when JM got the job. In fairness I also seem to remember Eddie Howe being mentioned
