We know what the cause of the rise in 2020 was. That drop just before it is interesting though isn't it? I wonder what caused that.

    What is a contrary personality?

A contrary person wants to disagree with and annoy other people: He doesn't really mean it - he's just being contrary.

Does any poster fit this definition?

Unable to cope with any opinion other than their own. To the point of putting others on ignore after the name calling and general reeing to get them to go away so they can pontificate without any kind of challenge has failed.

Do any posters fit this description?

Even worse, we've gone from doting after 'a PM with charisma' ..

to 'Penny Mordaunt's popularity soars after wielding sword at King's Coronation.'

Let's forget about integrity, policies or intelligence and elect a woman with big tits and the way she handles a big weapon <doh>

No need to kick out Liz Truss after all.

That just sounds like they are trying to hide something, even if thats not the case. "Some of these messages contain "unambiguously irrelevant" material so we are trying our hardest to make sure you don't see them".

Seriously, does nobody in the cabinet press office have the balls to say "hold on lads, that might come across as us trying to hide something. Lets think about what we say here"

I think this is a prime example of how our media and politicians fail. The argument should not be why arent you meeting your promised deadline. It should be is your promise relevant anymore, or was it ever.

Building hospitals seems to me like accepting people getting so ill they need hospital care. What about preventing that. Why not focus on increasing what we spend on primary care. It is called the National Health Service, not the National Sick Service, emphasis should be shifted to health management in the local setting. Labour have hinted at this, but only vaguely and seem hell bent on the private sector again as the means to spend. Only the US spends more on hospitals than we do.

Then there is social care with neither tory or labour prepared to go anywhere near that. Lib Dems will and they should be attacking both main parties for ignoring this.

If you look at the way we have funded and developed the NHS over the last 20 years it is ineffective. Yet 38p out of the public service £1 is spent on it. A more serious conversation is needed about what is needed and how to fund and deliver it. Nobody seems to be having it right now.

I must have misheard this on my way home - is it the Cabinet Office i.e. civil servants who are dragging their feet on releasing the WhatsApp messages?

Seems like a bit of a mess, Cabinet themselves redacting messages they have been handed by Boris, who is possibly refusing to handover other messages until he receives a written request from the government (which you would expect them to have done by now!).

These are highlights from Sky News article on it all...

    • Boris has written to the Cabinet Office to demand the government requests in writing access to his messages and notes - which he says has not happened yet.
    • The deadline has now set been 4pm on Thursday 1 June. The Cabinet Office asked for an extension to Monday 5 June as they do not have access to Mr Johnson's messages or notebooks, but this was rejected.
    • Lady Hallett highlighted in her explanation that the Cabinet Office redacted material about the policing of Sarah Everard protests during the period of restrictions - something she said was "not a promising start". She later obtained the messages in full.
    • She also identified communications - which have still only been seen in their redacted form - that she considers are "in fact relevant to my investigation".

The request which was made on the 28th April is specifically for un-redacted messages and notebooks (excluding reasons of National Security)...I mean this is pretty crystal clear so who thought it would be a good idea to try and push their luck? Unless it was deliberate to try and delay the deadline by a week which thankfully wasn't allowed.

You can see the full request here if you are bored :emoticon-0100-smile
