I suppose it depends on what our plan is for them. They're at an age where playing u21 football is no use now. Do we realistically think they'll break into the first team for us or are we just offering them an extra year for us to play it safe? I'd be shocked if Grant wasn't in for Wood and Jarvis at Donny too
If you can read Spanish, Universitario fans on Twitter don’t rate him. Hopefully, he will start to play more games though and build up some confidence.
I think we all know, he is young, but playing 20 minutes here and there is no way to get into the rhythm of the game. As always TWT, but I hope it proves to be a good investment.
Actually, saying that, I just checked and some of their fans have been saying he’s improving every game recently. He’ll be on loan with them until January 2024.
I think Rosenior sees Celi as our version of Enciso at Brighton. From what I can tell on Twitter, he has technical ability but can go missing in games. Hard to judge since he only gets 15-20 minutes here and there.
He's also had a bit of off field issue with attitude, but somebody mentioned last week that he's taken the kick up the arse with positivity and is now knuckling down. I guess he realised that if he's not playing for Peru, he isn't coming here and presumably he wants to come here and play.
I can’t remember the circumstances. So does he have to be a full international to get his clearance to play here? Is he anywhere near?
You can see why South Americans tend to do well over here and you can see the physicality from this clip.
To get a work permit, he needs to be playing for Peru regularly. Or, he needs to be playing in a league that has a high coefficient (which Peru’s top division doesn’t have).
A couple of Scunny mates were asking in the pub tonight how the Harvey Cribb trial went - did we offer him anything?
I believe he’s still under Scholarship so we’d have to pay a fee. So you’d imagine he’d have to of really impressed to sanction it
It wouldn't be very much as I'm sure clubs in the NLN have to go down to Category 4. As a Cat 2 team we pay less I think?
Andy Dawson will know him well, I would guess a lot would come down to whether he feels he is good enough. It was strange at Scunny as he played 8 games for the first team in 2022, but since, even though they were struggling you would have expected he might well have broken through but nothing happened. However, he is only 17, so I guess maybe that was the reason, just not physical enough yet.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Jevon Mills has signed a new contract. One year plus another with option.
