What a knob... Marcelo Gallardo: Statue of River Plate legend sparks mockery over exaggerated bulge - BBC Sport
Has the 'Bash Deano' thread been set up yet??? I ain't no fan of Sheff Weds either but rightly or wrongly they've been promoted, who gives a ****? For that to then turn people against the man that volleyed us into the top flight for the first time in our Clubs history and made us all cry like kids at Wembley Stadium 15 years ago,is quite simply absolutely ****ing ridiculous!! Rant over!!
You have to feel for Barnsley, to have 2 poor decisions against them, and then to play for with 10 men only to be beaten by a last-gasp goal. It makes you sometimes wonder whether the powers want certain clubs to prevail.
Rumour is that DeWalt battery range are sponsoring the Prem next season as part of a 'look no leads' campaign.
Shame that his only mistake was with the goal, I think he had a chance to save it if he'd not tried to use both hands. However I've never been a goalie so it's possible I'm talking bollocks.
When I met him I thought he was a gent but I’ve heard negative things from others, especially women who have met him. I know he’s had his issues with mental health which I sympathise with but he doesn’t help himself.
nice goal though, just watched the highlights. remembering other wembley diving headers. was it osgood against leeds in 1970? and the coventry player - keith houchen? i should look these up. don't remember seeing any others.
Clarke against Arsenal 72 another. Choosing the winner now would be like picking which guy your wife leaves you for.
I met Deano at Sheff Utd a few years ago. He'd parked his car next to my mates in the club carpark. He saw we were City fans and hung about for a chat. I've got to say he was also a true gent. He had a good line of banter, told a few jokes, had a few stories about Ashbee et al, and was happy to chat to two nobodies when he could have been in the corporate bar lapping it up with the prawn sandwich brigade. Remember, he was also well liked at the Blunts. Nice guy in my book and a legend.
I was at the training ground getting a large print of the KC signed for my Dads 80th. It was the year of the first play off final win. I missed Dean Windass who went on to get the goal. Met him about 4 years later and told him the story when he was shopping where I used to work. Told me to bring it to work and he would come back in. True to his word he did. I thanked him and he said “ your dad has been going to City for years thank him for me”.
Osgood’s was in the replay not at Wembley , but he was my hero at the time outside of Waggy and Chillo !
No need for a thread Glad to hear I didn’t. I cried when my 1st child was born not over ****ing football You’re not ranting
Five men who illegally streamed Premier League football matches to tens of thousands of people have been jailed. The gang sold cut-price £10-a-month subscriptions, bragging they made money showing games not otherwise available to watch live in the UK because of "blackout" broadcasting rules. Their operation, described as the biggest so far, received more than £7m from 50,000 subscribers. The sentencing follows a rare private prosecution by the Premier League. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65697595
The main man sentenced to 11 years. People get less for rape. I guess it's not what you do, it's who you do it to.
I seem to recall Coventry scored a couple of good goals in the ‘87 Cup Final, can’t remember if one was a diving header or a volley?
Think, without checking, Bennett got the first equaliser after Clive Allen had scored one of the quickest ever goals in an FA Cup final for Spurs. Think Keith Houchen's diving header made it 2-2, before the unlucky Mabbett og (off his knee) won it for Cov. Seem to recall the later great Ray Clemence trying to turn it over the bar but it looped up over his head and dropped in. Great game. One of the best finals.
