They have a lot of players on more than £100k a week, and took out a large loan with Macquarie bank. If they don't get very big sums for their players, they might end up in a bit of trouble.
I thought I’d read that they’d still put 40% wage drops in for everyone despite their trajectory previous. Saw on MOTD tonight a lot of their players have expiring deals this summer.
They’ll get a decent wedge for Maddison, then there’s a few others so should be alright, a lot depends on what they decide to do, try & keep most of the squad & just add a few, like Burnley, or get rid of a lot & try & bring in good players for cheaper.
Yes I forgot to mention that several players were out of contract, so their wages will come off of the books on 30th June. Several had been signed for high fees BTW.
7 or 8 are out of contract. Madison and Barnes will be sold. Possibly a few others. It's a Burnley 'esque' rebuild. But looking on the bright side. I get to walk to an away game
The original pub was named after the street it was on, which was White Hart Lane, which could be why they've chosen it. **** knows why they chose spurs as a club to follow though.
Probably just for the day like the rest of us only these are the anti Leeds fanatics who even bought shirts.
If you look on the old maps, you'll see where the original pub was on what was White Hart Lane. It's now on Alfred Gelder Street.
Yes it seems that way big Hull Spurs flag up in the back room .It was packed as well with middle aged chaps wearing replica shirts a size too small for them .I was impressed with the pub though very good beer selection and the food looked good too .It’s going on my list for a Sunday afternoon session .
All of the clubs coming down feel like they'll need to rebuild It’s been a while since three clubs that all need rebuilding have come down. Usually you get a Norwich or Watford or West Brom or Fulham style team who keep their core together and try and bounce back, but this time it’s three teams who’ve been there a while. They’ll all have new managers and have to recruit new squads. I’d be surprised if all three were challenging. One of them is bound to get it wrong.
Food is good in there Decent vegan options too (which you may not care about…but just for info) Wish they still had the shuffleboard table though. I know they have one in BrewDog but I liked an afternoon drinking and shuffling in White Hart
Well well well. Didn’t realise that. Some logic I suppose (to the pub choice rather than that club choice) I’d like to think they’re all from Norf Larndarn but live up here after work or study, now they found out how much better it is. If so then fair play to them.
Leeds haven’t been there that long, have Championship players for the most part, unless I’ve missed something, Southampton also have a lot of Championship players, but the players might think they’re better than the club & demanding PL football, if they can keep the likes of Adams, he’ll score for fun, but Ward Prowse will be gone for big money, like Maddison. I can see Newcastle, Utd & Spurs, maybe Villa going in for one of them.
