I really hope whatever in’s and outs we do…..we do it early doors so at least RM can get to work quickly with everyone. Please Saints don’t leave to the end of the window.
One Swansea player I would like to take is Matt Grimes. I like the look of his passing ability and I think he would be a great asset.
Just with the sheer number of players it appears will be off I don’t see how it won’t go right to the wire. There are so many moving parts with all transfers that I don’t think you can really blame the club too much in most cases as well
Probably not feasible, but those who won't be here next season (and don't want to to be here), but haven't gone by the time pre-season starts, should be kept away from the first team. We need to focus on those committed players and trying to forge a good, strong togetherness.
I guess they could get both such is the state of their midfield, but MacAllister sounds like he’s off to Liverpool
Yeah I can see them wanting both the, £120m?, you’d imagine it would cost to get both might be an issue though
Be interesting how he does at Chelsea. I’ve always said he’s not cut out for a top club but Chelsea’s transfer strategy suits him so can see him being a success there. Chelsea obviously linked/bid on Lavia previously so they may still be interested
Poch not cut out for a top club, or Lavia? Wouldn't agree with either of those! The other thing to put into the mix is that the same clubs will all be looking at Caiciedo.
Oh definitely those two as well, but they’re more Mac Allister, CM options. On the DM side, Lavia and Caiciedo are the two main options (along with Ugarte, but I mean in terms of UK based players).
Poch at a top club. You listen to players he’s managed where he has had big success (Saints and Spurs) and they all talk about the intensity training, double sessions, runs them into the ground to get fitness levels up etc These players bought into it as they saw results and knew it would improve them/their careers so put in the extra work. Most of these players who improved hugely under him were not big names at the time. I just think that players who already have made it to that top club won’t have the same attitude to his methods and won’t want to put in that much physical work when they already know they have got to the top not doing that, so the manager should play to their strengths not the other way round. I’m probably generalising as maybe some players would but I don’t think it would be the majority. When he was linked with Utd for example they aren’t going to let him go and sign a load of young “unknowns” (to a degree) who suit his style more as they need the big name players coming in. Chelsea signing a load of younger players should suit him and I’d imagine is a big part of what attracted him to the job. He is a builder of clubs/careers in my view rather than someone who goes in and manages the very top players/clubs already in place
It’s the recurring problem for talented youngsters; stay and get much needed experience, lots of minutes on the pitch but albeit on a lower wage, not the “glam” of the PL and inevitably having your head turned by bigger clubs or get paid a shedload to warm the bench at a big club. I’d totally forgotten about Ricardo Carvalho from Fulham and went to the Mickey Mousers… talks about him now going out on loan, etc… it’s an odd, odd world being a footballer…. If it were me, I’d just want to play football.
Hmm...really not sure I agree with this, but get your point. In fairness, the only club he's "failed" at (and even to say it's a failure is a real push) was PSG, which nobody can manage. Players like Kane, Son etc are elite players, and Tottenham would like to think of themselves as a big club. The people that wouldn't respond to his methods are the people who think they're above such things - and those players are few and far between (Neymar, Mbappe etc). I think he'd have done an excellent job at United - it needed a disciplinarian, which Poch is (a loveable disciplinarian) and Ten Haag is too. Poch doesn't need unknowns, he needs players that will put in the work. That's different. He'll be great for Chelsea if he's allowed to have control over things. First job he has is trimming down that mental squad though - they're like a turbocharged version of us at the moment, and it's why they've actually been more of a failure, comparatively, than we have this season. If he can move enough players on to have a committed, hard-working core squad, he'll do very well.
Maybe not, but I thought the rumour was that he wanted out survival or not. Just a rumour though so who knows. Also, Rice is likely gonna move too, as is Paulinha, JWP... a lot of DMs switching.
