    I am enjoying Spy/Master (HBO Max), which is based on the story of the Romanian chief spy, and right-hand man of Nicolae Ceaușescu, (who was actually a Soviet agent), defecting to Anerica during the Carter era. It is in Romanian and English, with other languages. There are English subtitles.

    Netflix ‘Blood and Gold’ is an unusual WW2 story. As the Allies are close to victory, a determined group of Nazis are intent on finding a hidden stash of gold. A tremendous beginning shows them chasing a German deserter who has become disillusioned with the Third Reich. He becomes involved with a feisty young young female who shares the same opinions of the Hun and what follows is sometimes a hard watch mixed with moments of violence and black humour.

    Watched Inside Man on Netflix yesterday, though it was actually first on the BBC last year.

    The rather bizarre story of a US death row prisoner (Stanley Tucci), who solves crimes from his cell and works to save a woman held hostage in a U.K. cellar by a vicar (David Tennant).

    It’s a rather far fetched story, but it was still very watchable, I like Tucci in most things.

    Fugitive: The Curious Case of Carlos Ghosn (Netflix).

    This is the story of the golden boy of the car industry, who became boss of both Renault and Nissan, before being charged with financial misconduct in Japan. He was allowed out on bail until he went back to court for sentencing, but did a runner and now lives in Lebanon and still claims he's innocent.

    It was interesting for two reasons.

    Firstly, the story of his meteoric rise in the car industry, the massive success he had and why on earth you'd use two major international businesses as your own personal piggy bank while already being paid €9.2m per year + expenses.

    Secondly, the details of the legal system in Japan. There's no concept of innocent until proven guilty, in Japan, if you're charged, then you're automatically considered guilty and the court case is really just about sentencing (in Japan, 99% of those charged are found guilty, they basically only charge you if they're certain you're guilty).

    Interesting watch.

    I’m 2 episodes in on “ the inside man “ I too love anything Tucci is in but I’m not totally sure it’s as good as I first thought it was. Very watchable but hasn’t got me thinking by this is good. I love the lady in the cellar, plays a really good part and quite a funny lady. But on a night we’re there’s nowt on it’s not a total waste of your time.

    I'm not a big comedy fan, but loved the first two series. I tend to tail off as comedy seasons go on though. I thought the first episode of Season 3 was a big drop in quality, and temporarily dropped it down my long list of things lined up to watch. Hopefully just a one-off, and will watch more when I get chance.
