Walcott, Elyounoussi, Aribo; none of them will be here next season. What's the point?

Not really sure what the point is of playing McCarthy, Elyounoussi and Walcott. Hopefully not damaging Bazunu’s confidence too much before next season, may as well just throw him the last two games.

Glad to see that it looks like James Bree will get a chance to showcase himself again before the summer.

I've been watching Saints since before the Ron Tudor Davies era and today's attack is undoudtedly the worse I can remember, I know Che is out but how have we sunk to playing such a mediocre bunch that look more suited to the Sunday pub league.

 

The game doesn't matter. Selles could have picked himself for all I care.

So we are basically in extended pre season, yet we are picking players that are both **** and won’t be here next season.

Points for Bree starting and Ballard and Doyle being in the squad, but I would have wanted to see much more than that.

Given the Russell Martin news this might be Selles last Saints line up at least.

 

Selles is just trying to make us all want Martin more.

Agreed! We know what Walcott can’t do so I really don’t understand why players like Ballard don’t get some valuable minutes when we are looking towards next season. Selles didn’t try anything different to try and save us from relegation and still won’t even when we are already relegated. So bored of him and his tombola.

 

I am more startled about Elyounoussi than Walcott, at least Walcott turned up this season and tried to do something.

But you are right, why is anyone that won’t be here next season playing at all (bar the likes of JWP and Lavia where we have no viable alternatives).

I mean I’d give Walcott the Scouse game to give him a send off, but today?

Selles has comprehensively proven he isn’t up to managing, I’m not even sure just at PL level.

Wouldn’t put him in charge of St Mirren.

I’m not even bothered about the performance today, but no youth and only one player from outside the usual bunch being tried out? Also no striker? Useless.
