I'd be happy with either. Disagree about Rak-Sakyi getting game time for Palace though, he's only ever played in League One, the prem is a huge jump. Usually, clubs try to progress players through the leagues to gradually increase their experience. Also, Palace have Olise for that position who will almost certainly play pretty much every game.

Contrary to popular belief, our squad is actually bloated. As it stands, the below is a list of players who would be considered 1st team squad players who are already on our books next season:

Patterson, Bass, Hume, Huggins, Ballard, Batth, Wright, Alese, Anderson, Cirkin, O'Nien, Gooch,. Evans, Matete, Neil, Ekwah, Ba, Embleton, Pritchard, Clarke, Bennette, Roberts, Lihadji, Stewart, Dejaku

That's 25 players which is already too big of a squad. To be a club looking to promote and develop youth, you have to be a little leaner in my opinion. There's no room to have players like Rigg, Watson and Johnson join the first team squad without wastage. As a club trying to be sustainable, paying so many players dilutes the salary we can pay.

I think we'll see more squad turnaround this summer than people expect.

    I think we'll be moving on/will lose:

Clarke (he's a Premier League player and will be sold to fund the rebuild)
Stewart (he's not signing a new contract)
Pritchard (just feels like he's away this summer)
Bass (will want a 1st team gig)
Wright (On a free somewhere late summer when he's fit)
Anderson (On loan as he's nowhere near the 1st team)
Matete (Part of a bloated squad that isn't improving the first team)
    Dejaku (Not good enough)
Gooch (Controversial this one, but he's in to the last year of his contract is essentially 3rd choice in every position now)

So, based on that, I see our squad looking like this:

GK: Patterson, back up keeper (someone with experience)
Defenders: Hume, Huggins, Cirkin, Alese, Ballard, Batth, O'Nien, 1 new signing (Cashin to be longer term Batth replacement?)
Midfielders: Evans, Neil, Ekwah, Embleton, Ba, 2 new players (Bellingham and the successor to Evans - really ambitious but Harry Winks?)
Wingers: Bennette, Roberts, Lihadji, 2 more needed (Rak-Sakyi on loan, maybe as part of a deal for Clarke, Carlos Borges from City on loan)
Forwards: 3 new signings needed (Keinan Davis permanent - last year of his contract at Villa, Cannon/Simms or Leaburn permanent, Soonsup-Bell or Joffy on loan)

He's under 21 so permit is based on his international appearances in the previous year.
Introduced to help teams pick up young foreign players and develop them.
Also Costa Rica were doing well qualifying for world cup so their FIFA ranking was high meaning he only had to pay about half their games.

Agree with most of this although i'd be trying to hold on to Clarke. Appreciate the club might ultimately not be able to stop him leaving, though.

Clarke is my favourite player wearing the red and white. I'd love to watch him for his whole career. But he'll have big offers and that's the model.

We're a club trying to be sustainable. We're not spending £20m plus a lot of wages I've suggested to improve the squad, without sales.

Ultimately, if selling Clarke funds Cashin, Bellingham, Davis and Leaburn after we've paid the add ons to Spurs then the club would see that as a good deal

Thing is, with our model we don’t need to spend daft money on wages. We want players who are on the cusp of breaking into the first team without really getting a chance, mixed with a bit of experience elsewhere. We’ve proved that this season.

It’s about player attitude now almost as much as ability. And I absolutely love that.

Players may well see us as a stepping stone to bigger things but if they are willing to come here, take a risk and have the desire then I’m fine with that.

The experience we need now costs bigger wages. With all due respect to Evans and Batth, they're not Premier League players and never have been. The same goes pretty much for Pritchard, Gooch and O'Nien who are our current experienced players.

To get Keinan Davis (or an equivalent striker capable of helping us get promoted AND stepping up with us) will cost more than £15k a week. Same goes for a midfielder to replace Corry Evans. Then there's the new players coming in and contracts needed for Cirkin, Hume, O'Nien and Roberts. Our wage bill will be rising this season.

They are indeed. Gooch and Onien probably save us 2 or 3 signings (and wages, bonuses, transfer fees etc) due to their versatility.

    And their quality.

I think today is the deadline to inform the EFL, but they do not have to make it public.
