Way I see it is that's its better to play in any European competition than none, chance at decent silverware etc. You'd probably be the best team in it too, though there's always a smattering of big names and good teams in it. People get very snobby about it all. When we beat PSV (waaaay back in 2004) QF of Europa they were clearly an excellent team (and we were lucky to go through). Following year they made the SF of the Champions League and were apparently suddenly a good team.

I think we can all agree that Arsenal losing, City winning the league while watching on TV and Forest condemning at least one bigger club to relegation is the best thing for everyone here.
