Watching Stockport in the play offs reminded me of going to a game there in the 80s. I seem to remember Steve McLaren scoring with a longish shot. I thought we won 3-1 but can’t find a result matching that. Is there a site anywhere that gives historic results with scorers, or anyone remember it?
Someone online said the City’s home shirt for the 23/24 season resembles the 82/83 season. He knows because he went to an event where Acun invited several fans. It was also the same event where he mentioned the mystery £7 million player that now wants to join us. Here’s that shirt from 82/83 for those not familiar. It sorta makes sense. The white away kit we had this year was a homage to one from the 80s and the red detail on the collar and sleeves could be Acun wanting a bit of Turkish colour to our kits. I love this shirt personally. This is the white one from the 80s which this season’s away kit clearly took inspiration from.

When he was interviewed yesterday about Toney, he said they had planned for losing him (maybe they knew about the possible suspension or an anticipated sale) and mentioned KLP among others they had to replace him.
