Anyone else a bit fed up with Trippiers **** delivery and decisions every single week? Against Saints I think Bruno took ONE corner and we scored from it. After the red card the free kick Trippier took was about the worst I’ve seen all season. Should we be changing it up or am I being too harsh?
It's been poor all season, both attacking and defending, our free kicks are somehow even worse than our corners. It actually makes it all the more incredible the season we are having, considering how big a part of the game set pieces are. Trippiers corners are often not a bad delivery but we don't seem to attack the ball in the box. His free kicks however are poor, that awful shot at the end and one in the first half where he literally passed the ball to a leeds player. We don't seem to be improving things either. Main concern of the season really.
I agree I think because teams know we have little threat with them it’s easy for teams to ignore them. Bruno should take more.
We have a left back that is taller than 25 giraffes yet he cannot win a header, in any setting. Sure the deliveries could be better but we have no aerial threat despite our obvious size
I watched Gundogan's free kick yesterday with an air of "that's what Trippier used to do but can't do anymore" He's actually stayed for this season and has been a key part of the defence, but these set piece ls are getting worse by them game. Wilson or Schar to take the shots from free kicks now please.
Need a bit more variety. Don’t know if we have changed our set piece coach as last year we were very good. The Alexander-Arnold free kick last night was a good example of how just a bit of improvisation can really open up space to get a shot in.
