That admirable, tough and game 8YO Mr Wagyu goes at York tomorrow (2.25). However, its worth flagging up his career stats once again. In June and July he has won 15 of his 30 races. At all other times of the year he has a record of 0/42!!! The moral of the story must be that it will soon be June. But, and I say but, it ain't yet...
Typical bookies benefit at York. Ticket price, over-priced drinks, over-priced food and the chance to throw your money at 20 runner handicaps. What’s not to like? Oh yeah, the weather and drunks.
Big step up tomorrow and totally different surface. If she can beat these on good ground she would surely have to be supplemented for the Oaks
Entre Deux has a squeak in the (15:10) at Newton Abbot, a Class-5 Handicap Chase over an extended 3m. Nick Scholfield rides for the Paul Henderson yard. 9/1 (PP/BetVictor) best price at time of writing. E/W best option.
No bet but this will help pass the day at work with it being a bit of a slow burner... 1:50 - Zain Knights, 16/1 2:25 - Spirit of Light, 16/1 3:00 - Highfield Princess, 9/2 3:35 - Sea of Roses, 10/1 4:10 - Catch The Paddy, 9/1 4:45 - Brave Empire, 6/1 5:15 - Paris Lights, 13/2 Good luck to you if you are playing...
The obvious conclusion is that she was outclassed but I don't think she could be outclassed to that extent. More like either she didn't like the ground today or Military Order didn't like the soft ground when running 4 secs slower than the filly, or both. We will see when she next gets the soft Impressive there by the Frankel filly
