now we’re signing reporters because the footballers are too expensive? DAZN Italia reporter Orazio Accomando has reported that Manuel Ugarte is very close to joining Liverpool.
Dunno Might be a good move Could be a trailblazing moment like the throwin expert and people say I am negative sheesh
I'm pretty sure we're at least looking at LB/LCBs, and if that's the case, there are two standouts we should be all over: - Ignacio (Sporting) - Colwill (Brighton / Chelsea)
Liverpool director of loan management David Woodfine to leave this summer. Latest departure after Edwards, Ward, Graham from same tight-knit group. Woodfine highly regarded + exit his decision to seek fresh challenge after 9 years at #LFC @TheAthleticFC
Yes he's really done a great job on loans. However the list of successes can be read on one hand. the list of kids who've not prospered is much longer. We need to arm these guys with much better club partnerships to work with to bring players on. IMO this lad has had to scratch round for places to place kids way way too much. Other clubs can go do a deal in Holland or wherever (even brighton have this) and they roll 3 players through these to bring them on. Look at Leighton Clarkson. Never given a sniff by Blackburn after being signed on a deal to play. then we send Morton right after him (stupid but it worked out) not clarkson is up on aberdeen. This guy was in effect responsible for generating transfer fund for the senior side by finishing off young players deemed not good enough for first team.
Colwill is impossible. Contracted at Chelsea to 2025. this puts him in the 100mil bracket (seemingly all players are 100mil now) and demand will be high, this rules us out of any deal instantly. Ignacio contract is 2026 but has a release of 40million however his club are seeking to get him to sign another deal to get this up to 70. This is now entirely in the players hands. This guy is 21, not that tall but tall enough, plays the right position and at 40mil represents value. I would strongly suspect an agent will be driving the market hard this summer.
Roberto De Zerbi has publicly admitted that both Alexis Mac Allister and Caicedo can leave Brighton this summer. Liverpool for Mac Allister,Arsenal for Caicedo.
Our transfer team failed to do their work by allowing Brighton to buy both Alexis Mac Allister and Caicedo. Buying now from Brighton, Brighton will at least double their money.
Thing is, did we know that they’d be a success like we do now? Brighton took the risk so they should get the reward. All moot if we can’t afford it.
Inacio and Ugarte both at Sporting. We have good links with Portugal so who knows, we could land them both.
