Great man manager but only uses a few players. Seems to find managing egos difficult and is way too loyal to out of form players. Hope he flops with you but suspect he'll do well
Happy to get Poch. Big advantage is his Prem experience. Boehly now needs to stand back from the playing end of things and concentrate on stadium development and the financial running of the Club. Leave Poch to sort out who he wants to stay and go. This season was a **** fest from start to finish but i think next season we can get back to competing near the top again. Congrats to the Women on winning the cup and hopefully they will do the double in the next few weeks...the only good news out of the Club this season !
I’ve said it in other threads recently but being watchable is important and I always thought Spurs were when he was in charge. I know he didn’t win anything but their decline since he left is quite noticeable. Didn’t mind putting a youngster in too so that might benefit some of our decent ones who are out on loan, Maatsen, Colwill maybe even Hudson Odoi. Glad it’s finally been confirmed as it’s at least something to look forward to.
It's a huge task ahead for Poch, and a lot depends on wether Boehly will keep well out of things football. I have my doubts. Most important is sorting out the shambolic mess Boehly created with his recruitment efforts. Realistically , including the massively overpaid players who might come good, there is a big sense of "hard done by" by players we should be keeping, that permeates the squad. There are at least 10 players you could argue for selling, and at least 4 players we need to bring in to key positions of weakness. At the least it will be interesting to watch the comings and goings before we settle on a pared down ,manageable squad. Can Poch run the show or will Boehly mess him up ?? Only when the squad is settled can we start to see things either improve, or rumble on badly. One thing is certain, Poch will need the time Potter wasn't given, the skills of Tuchel, and a turn around in Team attitude. Good luck to him, hope it works out and pretty quickly starts to get better.
I’m happy too for us getting Pochettino. I was at the Chelsea v Forest game for the 2-2 draw. Pochettino has to see the potential in the side, we were poor first half but when Raheem Sterling got going working the left wing and centre we were on fire. When Chilwell and Rees-James are back from injury Pochettino will have the makings of a side capable of winning the FA Cup at least. If our luck’s in we’ll win the Premiership with no European games as a distraction - just like Antonio Conte did in the same situation with his first season with us.
