Teams around us are all putting up a decent fight, been a long time since I could say the same about our players
Sam has a problem and his problem is likely going to get us relegated. This is Sams 2nd game and so far Bamford has been marked at 3 last week and 5 this week. This puts him in the same category as Firpo and Greenwood. Yet again he was pants, oh and the YEP mark Rodrigo as a 7 this week and 8 last week. Rodrigo put another shift in and was dangerous whereas Paddy was pants again. Just don’t get it at all and his face yet again when subbed says fook off then Sam. yet again we had a couple who were not at it, not at the races and pointless being on the field, but pleased to say Robles, Wober (besides his penalty lunge) Ayling and Kristensen battled. McKennie again was ok, Forshaw was good, Willie was a danger when he came in, so most were going for it just wish it was Rodrigo and Gnonto up top and even Rutter
I have it on good authority, can’t name my sources, but Bamford picks the team each week. That’s the clause all coaches must agree to before signing up and also reason 42 coaches turned us down before Javi finally accepted
2 Leeds players and 2 former Leeds players all on the pitch in the Championship play off semi final. Joffy and Drameh one at Sunderland and one at Luton plus Jack Clarke and Niall Huggins for Sunderland. Suppose it’s not a bad return from our former U23s, Bielsa and Orta….
Poch has got the Chelsea gig so that’s the media darling’s coaching career over for good. Surely no one will want him now. Got a worse win record than a Leeds manager.
Hearing credible story of one of our members out on the lash in Wakefield tonight, dressed in something exotic in a tranny bar watching the Eurovision with lots of like minded laaadieees? Anyone seen Olof today
Ian Wright has said the Leeds performance yesterday reminded him of Bielsa’s press. Look at the way Rodrigo presses and pushes their midfielder back to break up the attack. This happened a lot in the 2nd half by most of the Leeds players and it worked well. Yes maybe a bit like the way we pressed under Bielsa but not Bielsaball because our ball control and passing was pants. Too many players holding the ball for too long and getting it taken off them rather than play the simple pass. Greenwood, McKennie and Bamford main culprits
See that Firpo is getting the usual hate all over the place. Just watched it again and he's clearly pushed otherwise he wouldn't have accidentally handled the ball. That's why he ended up on the floor as the push happens whilst he's in the air, if you disagree try jumping then have someone push you in the lower back and try to keep your arms down as it's impossible. Also the second yellow is taking one for the team as the Newcastle player is clean through on goal and Firpo's actions meant we didn't concede and held onto a vital point. Finally a brilliant driving run won us a penalty, which if converted would have given us a fantastic opportunity to win the match, a feat he nearly repeated in the second half. But hey let's drive him out of the club because apparently many fans don't want to see him in a Leeds shirt again. Well for your information the lad gave his all with total 100% commitment, never shirked a challenge and worked his socks off back and forth the whole game whilst having to single handedly deal with firstly Almiron and then Antony Gordon's fresh legs. Notice that Wober who conceded the first pen has had zero criticism, when all be had to do was stay on his feet. Obviously no hate for Wober though so all is forgiven for what was an equally match changing moment.
Jammy correct again. Also Wober is taking stick simply because they were all orders by Sam to stay on their feet, don’t go to ground. Phil Hay says Wober will be getting the hairdryer on Monday. Bamford still taking flack in the media and being called a £70kpwk 6’1” dud who is still firing blanks. Seen some of the stuff on social media involving his family which is shyt. But football wise I have never understood how a striker can miss as many tap ins, easy headers, or can miss the ball completley, get his feet tangled trying to get the ball on his left foot. He has been a mess. Aski can probably correct me but I estimate that Paddy has missed at least 10 nailed on goals this season. Nailed on goals in my eyes are harder to miss, not speculative shots, glancing headers etc. no nailed on are simple goals. Those goals are the difference in relegation and staying up. For me Bamford should go elsewhere now as 2 seasons of injury, unfitness and uselessness has contributed to our downfall as much as Orta or the board
I managed to watch just over 30 minutes of the first half and saw everyone trying. Bamford looks to be a wreck so short of confidence which is nothing new. Firpo did what he does well and would make a decent stand in winger. Firpo may be good for the championship.
I think Firpo was poor defensively jambo and always have, haven’t watched it back but I thought he was pulled on the shoulder which would have had a similar effect. So a bit unlucky. The argument for the second is whether Gordon should have been goal side in the first place. A central defender shouldn’t need a manager to tell him when to go to ground. It was poor from wober (which I did chastise him for on the match thread). He just lacks a bit of pace… think he thought he was going to get there first. Poor judgement.
But overall Wober has been good for us. Just very Leedsy (he he) for everything to go wrong in the one game.
Striker and creative mid should be top of our shopping list. If Orta had made them a priority instead of wasting money on rutter and fat kev then we would not be at the bottom. Aaronson is a waste of money too and i think we are stuck with him. Meslier is not worth keeping as robles is way better than him. Hopefully he puts in a transfer request. If we had a better goalie all season we would again not be in this position. It ain't rocket science R kid.
I did see the push on Firpo but IMO he could've avoided the handball. I agree he took one for the team with the red but it was only his poor positioning that allowed the space in the first place. There was no Newcastle player on his outside so why was he several yards away and behind Gordon. He does have his moments going forward but he's meant to be a defender. Unfortunately his defence skills aren't good enough. I haven't seen the Wober pen incident yet.
