If memory serves me right, we brought Allahyar back too soon after injury and he lasted a couple of games before being out injured again. That seems to have made us over cautious about when injured players can return. Oscar and Connolly were meant to be available for the Luton game at one stage, but then in the run up they weren't.
Whatever is happening behind the scenes, I agree that we need to sign players who are robust enough to play 40+ games next season

Yeah you got me, I offered my opinion on a discussion board, that's a bit unusual.

Players are getting injured, medical staff are to blame.

We keep signing too many namby pamby softies, they may be touted as the next Ronald or messi got excellent stats in some minor league you've never even heard of but we have people who he watched every game they ever played.

I think Shota’s pre season had a large impact on it. Players like Tetteh, Oscar, Christie all came in and were thrown straight into the squad expected to make a level of impact expected of a fully fit player. Rosenior cannot absolve himself of blame (as he didn’t at the time TBF) of recurring injuries like Tetteh and Allahyar throwing them in consecutively like he did in quick succession.

Rosenior accepted responsibility for Allahyar being rushed back and getting injured again. He’s been far more cautious since. However, the injuries we’ve had this season, in pre-season under Shota, under Dawson and still under Rosenior tells me it’s the training facilities, the players’ lack of robustness or the medical/conditioning staff to blame, or maybe all of the above.

Yep I know what message boards are for but it was the way you stated it, and continue saying it as if it were established fact without any other possible contributors. And then the silly solution of just "sacking them all off". Really?

Bigger issue is injured players being rushed back in or not having their minutes adequately managed and re-injuring.

It's ok mate I don't think Acun is actually going to hire or fire staff based on what's offered as an opinion on here.

I think it's pretty clear that last summer's Pre-season and recruitment policy were key causes of the injury crisis. We signed players without time for a proper pre-season, from a league that perhaps doesn't have the same fitness standards we do over here. Bad combination. Injuries in the early weeks meant that new signings like Tetteh had to be thrown straight in and then they got injured too and it's just carried on from there.

Blaming 'medical staff' seems naiive to me. We have no idea what they do, they might be doing everything right but the players just came to them not fit and had to play matches. I think Shota and Acun between them made a lot of mistakes last summer and the pre-season was a big one.

Apparently Shota wasn’t happy with the pre-season tour to Turkey.

Is it naive? Please explain it to me. Ally was here last season but suffered two hamstring injuries, one which Rosenior admitted he was rushed too quickly back and suffered.

Similar with Tetteh suffering two hamstring injuries. The first you can blame on pre-season/recruitment, the second? The old adage "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice.." comes to mind.

If medical staff are being overruled and players are coming back against their advice, then what are they there for? If they're being listened to and players are coming back too early, then what do they know?

Not sure it's 'naive' to blame the staff responsible for keeping players fit when players don't stay fit.

These same medical staff are the ones undertaking the medicals before players sign....

Yeah, was thinking that myself - 31 (good age for centre back), has been injured this season, but back in the team for the last 6 fixtures (important fixtures so must be regarded as first choice) - glowing comments from manager and fans..............why ???

blaming medical staff is a complex process

you need to match cause with the correlation
what injuries occured due to bad tackles and unfortunates, covills knee, pelkas knee etc

the health of the player, the pre season fitness build up, the training intensity
    it all needs looking at
i don't think any of us have vast knowledge in sports science

It's why the injuries I've cited have been soft tissue, re-ocurring injuries, not the contact injuries which of course are no one's fault.
