I'd love Boro to get promoted, but would be bricking it and excited if Sunderland got promoted tbh, although unlikely to happen. Would love a tyne-wear or tyne-tees derby. Sunderland vs Luton - Coventry vs Middlesbrough Luton vs Sunderland Middlesbrough vs Coventry.
I've always wanted North East clubs to do well - as long as we finish above them. Wouldn't mind having the Mackems back in the division for a season - two derbies, some bragging rights, and then watch them get relegated. Sounds like a good time. Also Luton is a hole. Nobody wants to go there for an away game, and it makes Sunderland look like Disneyland.
The weird paradox of wanting the worst for Sunderland, but that means wanting them to succeed right now... Basically I want them to get back in the Prem, us to slaughter them both times, then they get relegated any with another pathetic points total.
All ****e aside. Sunderland to come up. Derby's are great build up, fun games. They're also a big club by current Prem standards, ie, Bournemouth, Palace. Middlesbrough? Come on.
Used to work there. The beach is ( hands on heart) truly amazing!! Ilford and Canvey Island however are true **** holes!
Boro being a big rival is a bit of a stretch honestly. Kinda like the rival you have when you just don't have any others available and you're desperate for a bit of banter. Funnily enough, of the three of us, Boro are the most successful in recent history. They actually won a ****ing cup in '03. Europa League final too. We will surpass them in a few years obviously but goes to show how ****ing useless Newcastle have been for a long time.
Mackems vs Smoggies in the capital the same weekend as we’re down there playing Chelsea could be “interesting”. I’m in France (with a mackem as it happens) that weekend so we’ll no doubt be finding a suitable ale house to watch whatever unfolds.
