But we only had 9 shots on target in a 9 game run in where we only lost once. We had no strikers for 8 of those, but sort it out rosenior. We're not scoring 3 a game so some of our supporters are getting twitchy. If only there was a club in the city they could support where every 'goal' counted for 3 so there was more entertainment and less likely to be a draw... One with more ticket offers too...
You were a long time typing that reply, I corrected that to 11points several minutes before you posted.
Well 9 or 11 points off its splitting hairs over 46 games. . We were off down in November. We're mid table now as most predicted and it's up to Rosy and the recruitment team to make it better next year..
We ****ed up last year by not keeping Smallwood and Honeyman so I think it makes perfect sense. Whether he's still here in August is another thing but it's a sensible call to make
He's been retained because we can get a fee. That's where it is. Neither player nor club are under any illusions. If he's still here in September it will be a ****up. Unlike Smallwood going to L2 and Honeyman going to bench warm in dat London. Finished much more comfortably without too many points deductions giving it a gloss too this year so I'd wind yer neck in on ****ed up recruitment also. It could have been better, but it was no ****ing disaster either. We were stronger in the 10 role this season regardless. In fact we've been better in midfield for the last 30 odd games than last season, so I think you're clutching at straws on that one. Would you rather Tufan, Traore and Vaughan fighting for the 10 or Honeyman? Would you rather Seri, Slater and Simons to Smallwood? Yeah we need a Smallwood type but it always needed to be an upgrade on him. We haven't really missed out as a result of playing seri there instead.and he's a midget with zero physical presence just has a wand of a right foot.
Can’t see anyone offering a fee for Doc. I expect his options been triggered because Rosey wants to keep him here next season and he’s happy to stay with the role he’s been offered.
Yeah would be surprised if we're triggering the option just to sell him, unless some club in Scotland is offering us 500k or something.
This triggering a year so we can sell Docherty for a fee. I hope it goes better than the last time we did that - we ended up paying Markus Henriksen for a year to undertake fjord-side parenting duties.
So, various players, loanees and permanents, have been told to pack their bags. But loanee, Aaron Connolly, is not on that list, yet!! Clearly LR still has hopes there. But is it good business for Hull City? The Acun-Shota buddyfest left the team's prospects in a disastrous state and clearly showed how business and friendship/loyalty don't mix. Connolly seems to be an LR buddy relaunch project - is it really what the club needs? A broken toe and a mysterious illness are hard to fathom. Where is this guy physically and attitudinally/mentally? He got maybe too much too soon - scored in the Premiership and got to play for RoI - maybe he felt he had reached the peak of his mountain and couldn't see much left to achieve. What a contrast to another Brighton prospect, just 18 years old, has already scored in the Premiership and called up and scored for RoI, Evan Ferguson - he also seems to be physically and attitudinally/mentally very stable for someone who has achieved all this at such a young age. The contrast is stark. I just hope we do not have another buddyfest issue looming here that blinds real business for this club.
Signings of players like Woods and Figs have been worse than any of the “buddy fest” signings. Apart from maybe Sinik
There's a big ? Over the robustness of a few of our summer signings, but overall I'd consider it more a success than a failure when you compare the squads of this season and last season. If we bring in players that improve us this summer we should look stronger again next season. The biggest difference next season will be having Rosenior in from the get go. He now knows what he has available, has identified what he wants, and will be doing what he can to back up what he's been saying since coming in. If we can keep the long term injuries to a minimum we'll see if we can start creating more chances to challenge higher up the table, whilst hopefully keeping a fairly solid defense in tact.
A better injury year next year and some decent signings then we can look at fighting for top 8 poss play offs.
