The icing on the cake if we win this......Top of this division far longer than any other team.

    Barnsley...2-1...Peterborough
    Bristol R...0-1...Bolton
    Burton...1-0...MK Dons
    Cambridge...2-1...FG Rovers.....(joker)
    Cheltenham...0-1...Charlton
    Exeter...2-2...Morecambe
    Fleetwood...0-2...Ipswich.....(joker)
    Lincoln...1-0...Shrewsbury
    Oxford...2-1...Accrington S
    Port Vale...1-2...Plymouth A.....(45mins)
    Portsmouth...2-0...Wycombe W
Sheffield W...2-2...Derby..........This could be one of the play-off semis.

    Total goals scored.....28.

I presume nobody wants to do the play-offs, so here we go then, the last of the season with big points on offer. We've got 3 matches that 7 of us agree on and another 3 on which we're unanimous so the battlegrounds are at Barnsley and Exeter in particular and to a lesser extent at Cheltenham and Sheffield Wednesday where opinions differ.

Weirdly, 3 of us scored 33 but it wasn't our lucky day as Joe and Sensible recorded Match Scores of 42. SMH was third on 36, of which 27 came from a perfect score joker on Cambridge v Forest Green.

On top of a big Match Score, Joe got the Goal Time by predicting the 8th minute against a initially worrying goal conceded by Argyle as early as the 3rd minute. You will note Plym that Joe actually predicted Argyle would win 3-0, so didn't actually predict this goal at all, which is another rather random aspect of this item.

Joe also got 5 points for Goal Total, having predicted 34 against the actual of 35, which included 5 at Bristol Rovers and Exeter and 4 at Cheltenham, Fleetwood and Portsmouth. Over the season, around half of all games resulted in 2 goals or less, so that's quite a big number. Lyndhurst was one goal the other side, with a forecast of 36.

Joe and Lyndhurst also nabbed the 25 point End Of Season Forecast, both having predicted Argyle would finish third. Next season will be interesting.... how do you predict that?

These big scores did produce mayhem in the league table. Away in BC and Plym shared the crown (see what if did there?) on 639 points. Very well done both of you. SMH was agonisingly close in third on 637.

Despite his big score, Lyndhurst only moved him up one place but Joe, who started down amongst the low score stragglers, leapt up to 5th.

Thanks for playing and putting up with the odd mistake by Microsoft Excel. We'll have a well earned rest before thinking about next season shall we?

Laziness Plym, that's all. It took a few hours to set it up in the first place but thereafter the spreadsheet does all the actual work.

Apart from my own forecasts of course, which as you've seen, are more a work of fiction or art than science!

I understand the work of fiction bit.....don't any of these teams ever look at our predictions before they win / lose/or draw....selfish lot.
