Would have loved to see Gelhardt in the 10 even with Simms as a 9 if we had kept him. I think he would put similar level of graft in to Pritch.
Really feel for Joffy. I think you’re right. Even he has said he is more of a 10. He’s worked his bollocks off. Came highly rated and I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him.
He's definitely got better over recent weeks and has adapted his game. Gets lumps kicked out of him most games and bounces back up. He's been unlucky not to have had a few more goals as well imo. On a side note, having been very close to the pitch today, his calf muscles are ****ing massive.
Almost had a tear in my eye again watching the last couple of minutes of this. Great to see how much the players loved it and that it was a shared moment with the fans. Amad in particular loving every second of it but it was clear to see the emotion of so many of them, Roberts perhaps the most surprising. O'Nien with his arm around Patto just taking it in as the fans sing at full voice is class. I absolutely love this team. We've had more talented players than some of these, but they offer much more than that. It feels like we have a team that connects with us, that represents us and that never gives up. It's a breath of fresh air in the face of the "Business" that football has become.
To give him his dues, Simms got pushed off the ball far more than Joffy ever has. He’s a proper fighter, a bit like Onien. That goal against Hull was a tidy finish.
We never are and never were quiet, where we . . . . we were, as usual, fecking brilliant, and anyone thinking/saying otherwise wouldn't have watched the match. Not that anybody would, mind
There was a fair few of their fans in the stand where the dugouts were who stayed and clapped our lads off after they had came over to us. I think they knew they had seen a very good side tbf.
Aye looks to be the complete CM. Big, strong, intelligent, technically good. Lot of potential but he's already good enough to be starting, looking forward to seeing what he's like when he's fully in the groove. Wouldn't be surprised to see him knock a few goals in too he seems to know what he's doing.
