With a final result of Swansea 3 West Brom 2, the final month's total is as follows: 17 points, 14 goals scored, 5 goals against. The final chart looks like this: Well it was trending towards a 5-4 result but time ran out in the end and it finished 3-2. Swansea's spectacular late season form has caught everyone out. No-one scoring points in the points gained or goals scored columns. Swantastic and 55282 just sneak in with one point in the goals conceded column and they are the joint winners this month. Everyone else has scored no points at all. Final league table to follow imminently which will confirm Glamexile as this year's winner.
Final league table for the 2022/2023 season is: 55282 cuts Glamexile's lead from 4 points down to 3 points but it's not enough and therefore: Glamexile is this year's prediction league champion. Congratulations to you and we await your victory speech/images with eager anticipation
Let's hope it's as good as mine last year Well done Glam And many thanks Aswan, another fine job. I'm sure we all appreciate your effort* * on running it, not your predicting
Well played Glam a deserved winner Many thanks to the dam for putting the competition together Bring on next season
I am not one to keep records and look backwards. However I note I finished a credible 4th and 3rd in the previous two seasons It was therefore with much trepidation that I approached this season especially competing with those who were able to watch the team in the flesh as opposed to the odd cold night at exotic locations such as Vicarage Road. I am therefore thankful to my 'dodgy Firestick' for its continued help throughout the season which no doubt contributed greatly to this successful campaign. Then there is the age differencial, which some of my fellow predictors seem intent on highlighting. I mention no names except I am surprised especially as we were at school together . On this note I must congratulate @55282 for making me go all the way - something I haven't experienced for a while! And please, no reference to us being the Roy Hodgson and Sam Allerdyce of this board as @55282 is nowhere near Roy's age. Despite all of the above I am very humbled to have won this prestigious competition and I will now be seeking personal sponsorship in readiness for next season. I must admit I was impressed by @daimungeezer open top bus last year. I did try and book it but they wouldn't accept my bus pass. That's Hemel Hempstead buses for you! So I tried to book this one as it wasn't going to be used for a while but apparently the last couple who booked it left in a bit of a mess with heavily stained seats. I don't know some people! So I went for this one which was recently used to great success in the award ceremony for the Haying Island Heavyweight Hawaiian Hula Dancing Championship. Apparently they got it on the cheap as it had been previously used in the Hatton Garden 'pensioners bank robbery' so it was very suitable for the mature rider. Finally a huge word of thanks to @aswan_dam for his time and spreadsheets during the course of the season it has been very much appreciated and I hope you can rest your pivot tables over the summer. So summer well all of you and who knows what the transfer market will bring. I know, it's odds on losing 3 players, signing some loan players and the obligatory marquee signing of a promising 16 year old from Chippenham Town. I am off now to drink some fizz from the wife's slippers if the dog hasn't got them.
Thank you Glam, what a truly excellent acceptance speech We all look forward to your tenure as board sage I can reveal that last night, at a secret ceremony located in the depths of Hertfordshire, a discreet and understated inauguration took place. In a tearful yet joyous moment the magnificent trophy was prised out of my hands gladly presented with heartfelt good wishes... With tears welling (hay fever) and panting with excitement (asthma) an ecstatic Glam graciously grasped the lustrous trophy and swore (tourettes) to carry out his civic duty to the best of his ability. Gushing with pride (incontinence), the new incumbent proclaimed allegiance to the mighty Swans and vowed to uphold the poor standards of the Swansea 606 board. All hail the new Champion! p.s I did wash the trophy beforehand, so it should no longer smell of Guinness.
