I'm afraid they didn't in most of that second half against Bournemouth. Almost all of them effectively downed tools and it was at that moment that both quality and effort were lacking. They didn't care enough.

 

Hmm not sure that's true. Been plenty just going through motions since November tbh.

Gabbiadini moment was exactly five years ago today.

 

Salisu is 'injured' AKA is so unprofessional that he couldn't even finish the season playing for us in a relegation 'battle' because he's too good for us and wants to leave.

 

Any truth to that? because if so that's ****ing outrageous

 

Jesus. Stick Caleta-Car in. If he doesn’t want to play then sod it, put Lyanco or Simeu in.

 

Unless the player comes out and says it (and that's not going to happen), I guess it's the type of thing that isn't ever confirmed. It was mentioned in passing on TSP a while back, and I got the impression they all knew about it (presumably via Tanswell) but can't talk about it.

 

It feels like Salisu hasn’t played for a long time, I vaguely remember Selles saying something about using players who want to be here in a pre match press conference and then Salisu wasn’t included in the match day squad, and I don’t think has been since.

He was always leaving this summer regardless of us staying up or not, so obviously wasn’t that fussed about the “fight” (pretty much none of them are anyway)

 

Yep & there’s the danger with this “stepping stone” carrot / mentality. You need a back bone / spine of proper players who provide the glue, stability, leadership. Unfortunately we’ve lost all of that (definitely not had for a long time) & just end up with a bunch of, not mercenaries but players who have no real affiliation to the club & when it’s time to stand up ……….

 

Timing is pretty suspicious. Reports in media that he wants out, followed by an apparent injury ruling him out for the rest of the season.

Called it last season when everyone was ranting about Bednarek. Salisu is clearly a quality player, but he doesn't have the passion. Seems more interested in posting photos of himself modelling on instagram.
