Prediction League Season 2022-23

Ah shouldn’t have posted that table without entering Musty’s predictions pending a joker - it’s comparing blank match score with a blank prediction and calling it a draw.

Can’t put it right just now as I’m sat in the Home Park car park and the spreadsheet is on the PC at home!

I just heard a bloke say he had trouble parking at 10am. Don’t know why it’s so full AmI right in thinking they’ve sold an extra 1,000 tickets n the Mayflower stand? They do seem to have coned off even more of the upper car park than usual. It gets worse and worse…..

 

Blimey your early.....couldn't you leave the 'Roller' at home....and enjoy a drink before the match instead.

 

Very high scoring games again this week. Have the defenders gone on holiday early? This probably kept the scores on the low side:

Plym and SMH shared the goal time: both within 1 minute although SMH could argue he was in the same half as the goal, whereas Plym was the other side of half time!

Most significantly, Plym took the lead from Away to lead by just one point.

Most of you, if not all, have submitted forecasts for the two midweek matches but if you haven't, please do so. Normal rules for those.

 

Since any of you can look it up, I won't be spoiling a surprise, but in case you had forgotten it, Joe and Lyndhurst are now inevitably going to be getting the year end bonus of 25 points, Serves the rest of us Argyle fans right for not having more belief. I think it does show how the team have exceeded even what at the time seemed a relatively high expectation of the play-offs. Here we are now already promoted and wanting that big trophy.

But I think we knew that.

 

A mixed bag of predictions for Shrewsbury v Bristol Rovers. They do have virtually identical records: only 1 point each from their last three games but 9 points each from the three before that. Both were beaten by Argyle in those 3 final games of course!

Burton do look favourites in the other game but they are safe from relegation whereas a win for Cambridge takes them out of the bottom three. Who will want it more?

 

Well, I have gone back and checked and Musty did get both matches spot-on rather than me making some bizarre spreadsheet error. Well done that man.



That moves him up to 7th, which was the only change triggered by otherwise sparse scoring.



The final round of matches is on Sunday at 12 noon. It the risk of upsetting one of you by trashing a season of forecasting when someone else gets lucky, we'll do:

• Treble points on match scores.
  
• Two jokers, each multiplying by 3 not 2.
• That total goals thing: 5 points for those nearest to the total number of goals scored. As before, if you want to total your goals up, please do so, but I do ot automatically anyway.
• A goal time for the Argyle game, which will NOT treble with the match scores.

Why devalue the goal time by not trebling it by x3 like everything else ?

 

Because you and BC have won it more than anyone else.................I think he should treble deduct points for nearest personally.
