Good Morning. It's Friday 5th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Premier League overrule blackout regulation to televise Leeds trip to the Etihad

Leeds' trip to the Etihad will be televised, live on Sky Sports, despite the broadcast blackout which prohibits the live streaming of Premier League fixtures (in the UK), between the hours of 2.45pm and 5.15pm on Saturday afternoons.

Originally, the game was scheduled for Sunday, but with Citeh in action 48 hours later against Real Madrid, the game was bought forward 24 hours. The usual lunchtime slot wouldn't work because of King Charles’ coronation, and a lack of police resources. The 5:30pm slot wasn’t a viable option either, as 30 miles down the road, Liverpool are playing Brentford, leading football authorities to break article 48 for the first time in Premier League history.

Leeds are a Northern club, and should behave like one

Sharp suits, prawn sandwiches, diplomacy - It's not very Leeds is it? In the past, visiting Fortress Elland Road used to be a terrifying experience, but over the years, it's fair to say Leeds have become a soft touch, both on and off the pitch.

I'm not talking about the away continent leaving LS11 with half their teeth missing; those days are well and truly confined to the past, but any fear factor has long since vanished, and may as well have been replaced by Nickelodeon.

In many ways, the arrival of Sam Alladyce is the perfect appointment; someone to add some northern grit, back to the party. He says what he likes, and to hell with the consequences; as apposed to his predecessors who would tow the company line, just to keep the authorities happy.

The squad have lost heir backbone, pure and simple! There's little determination, fight, desire or indeed structure to their game. Any confidence they do have, is diminishing fast. They have let the fans down this season, but there's still 12 points up for grabs, and I for one am a lot more confident now, than I have been over the past month or so.

We were definitely going down under the old regime, however with Sam's appointment i now have a glimmer of hope, all be it a small one, same players but can sam lift them for the biggest run in in the clubs History, if any one can sam can.
Tomorrow to me is just about the performance a battling one to make city work for their Victory which we all, if were honest expect them to get, a week ago like all of us i was expecting another highly embarrassing PL record possibly a 10-0 would not have been out of the question, but going to be a lot closer now with Sam in charge, my prediction a battling 3-2 defeat, but although a loss, the performance alone would lift those players even more for the finale three game run in, which we will need to at least acquire another four points maybe five to be sure.

Well Huddersfield only needed a point to be safe last night, which would have put them one point behind Cardiff. So given that there is one game left and Cardiff are 5 points clear of Reading and 8 points clear of Wigan and Blackpool, then that would suggest they are already safe, even if Burnley thrash them 20-0

Edit to say Sorry to Wakey, hadnt seen your post, when I made mine educating one of our mods about how maths works ;)

    Morning all

A few days between games and I am starting to feel better about it all, if we go down we rebuild, we're not down yet so we have hope.

I wish we had replaced him before the World Cup then we could have had a much larger pool to pick from. We might not have wasted money on the signings of McKennie and Rutter.

We can't change it now, no hope to a glimmer is an improvement however you look at it.

We also have a chance of forgetting Hockaday, Big Sam is on course to become our shortest term manager and he hasn't had his first game yet

Said in his first interview he's big into the psychological effects on players, perhaps he's assessing Meslier's mental state, see if he feels he's up to the job.

Morning all. I was looking for the desperation thread, seems I’ve found it with all these people wishing “big Sam” had taken over from Marsch. After a few years of beautiful football if we ever wanted to piss on the legacy of Bielsa then this is the appointment. We don’t have the squad for his type of football but we have added half a million pounds to his retirement fund.
