    Good point.

What saddens me is the example our children are being given.

We're constantly being lectured on how we should accept people for what they are and not be judgemental ...

... yet almost every TV show is a popularity contest constantly judging people on how they look, sing, cook, bake, behave, etc.

And, with those like BGT or I'm a Celebrity, the 'losers' are held up to ridicule and the public invited to laugh at them. It's obvious that many of those on BGT or X-Factor have mental health issues but they're invited on to be mocked and rejected. The masses look on, howl with laughter and glow with their 'superiority'.

What an example to set before our kids ffs.

Agree with most of that, but Labour are looking at stemming the media influences on our young kids, so there is hope of a brighter future

I was staggered with the recent ground breaking boast that Sunak was proudly declaring illegal immigration as ....

    ... illegal.

Why did no one ever think of that before, that'll stop them <doh>

Children used to be encouraged with '' you can be / have whatever you want, if you work hard for it''. Seems parents don't use, or kids don't listen to that ''work for it'' bit.

Watching talentless dopes like Harry Styles and Love Island tit flashers, becoming overnight millionaires, probably doesn't help ...

... why work hard when it's easier and quicker to 'be discovered'.

No, they'll be looking at stemming the ones that don't do what they want. Nothing sinister about that at all.

Not what I seen, they want to stem the media which young kids become obsessed with that leads to unhappiness and depression.

Local elections taking place now, not in my area.

The winners in these elections my guess will be apathy after the past few years siht politics.

This is very true. Its funny how everyone can see this but those that are so inclined blame it on what they see as their opposition. Maybe it means that people are closer together in their views than they realise. Or maybe it means that both 'sides' of the argument engage in the same tactics.

I see some analysts are talking about an extrapolation of a hung parliament from the local election results. That's a big surprise, I thought it was a case of how big the Labour majority would be.

How would a hung parliament work in these most divisive of times?

All three major parties being forced to work together is probably exactly what's needed.

I agree, but I think they'd rather sit, do nothing and whinge for another election.
