I've just had a look what I've got in it and it's the Sunderland Empire tickets that uses it but it's QR codes.
There has to be a solution, or solutions out there. We won't be the 1st set of fans who have had to had digital tickets for something.
Not convinced by that. People seem to want to be spoon fed by the club - ultimately it is a business that has decided to shift it's retail strategy. Buying tickets is optional rather than an essential such as gas, water food etc so the onus is on the customer to ensure they match the T&Cs - it's like everything in life these days. It's going to be easier to figure this all out once the SCs get emailed over and we can test it on various apps to see what works. It's all supposition right now
There definitely will be, I'd have hoped the club have spoken to all of the other clubs who have implemented this and have all the answers and lessons learned from their mistakes.
I can’t help but feel some are over reacting. They expect everything to be in place for next season before this one is even finished. I’ve seen @Southern A post about Coventry’s management so we just need to put ours in perspective I feel.
Agreed. Lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth without knowing the full facts and "blaming" the club for things that haven't happened yet
Who is this person? Of course they should have sorted this out prior to release, your pathetic sucking up to the club has no limits does it?
You say sucking up but I would say it’s pragmatic. It’s all about opinions and perspective but describing someone’s view point as pathetic sucking up is a shut down. Do you often shut down other peoples opinions ?
See below from SAFC website. Physical cards on a case by case basis and provided free of charge. Under 16's would have to be approved due to the Apple and Google Wallet Ts & Cs, and the way the club is ran now, I can't imagine anyone being turned down in fairness. Link also below. Digital support services - SAFC We understand that some supporters may not have access to a smart device (smartphone or smart watch) and we will work with you to provide a solution – for example, a physical card – on a case-by-case basis to ensure no individual is excluded from the 2023-24 renewal or purchase process. After completing the renewal or purchase process, please email [email protected] with the subject header ‘No smart device’ and include your customer number and member of our ticketing team will be in touch to discuss a suitable alternative, which will be provided free of charge.
Someone on this thread had a go at me about being negative, about Steve Davison, not you I know, but he and his underlings need to be brought to task regarding the off the field activities, which are pathetic at the best, I dont actually know why he was employed and continues to be so
Im not convinced of the need for this at all actually. Most ticket holders who renew, will just have kept their card anyway. Perhaps it is some necessity that cannot wait, but I'd have thought that there were more pressing off field matters to attend to. Supporters are NOT normal "customers" . It isn't like gas, or food. You can't go somewhere else. It is the ultimate captive market and the haste seems unnecessary to me.
Agree completely with this its not like the club needs to reissue cards every season and people who lose their cards probs pay an administration fee to get a new one so can't see anyway this digital card will save the club any money and its certainly not going to be quicker the 4g around the ground is shambolic let alone with 40k fans trying to use smart phones to scan whatever on their phones. Really what was the harm of the cards fans get in in seconds and it really takes no policing I'm at a loss to understand why the club has become so anti physical card
hettonlass otr saying they be starting to be sent out from the week commencing 10th July so next Monday so keep a eye out on email from then a update for the people without smart phones should be released next week too
