Dont forget France and Italy or Germany getting rid of the Kaiser was a blessing for 1930's Europe and led directly to the current situation in Israel/Palestine I sam not a Royalist but I am happy with the Constitutional Monarchy but it needs to to trimmed back and less expensive to keep
Ah they’ll still come and look at buildings line. They will, but nowhere near the numbers that come now and overtime that’ll die out. Small local businesses make a killing for Royal weddings, Coronations, births, deaths and also just folk coming to see the palaces. They’ll also be affected by the drop in income.

I'm not a Royalist; I'm of Irish heritage and the English monarchy haven't actually endeared themselves to the Irish people over the centuries ... but I am a Realist and in the profession I'm in I have had interactions with many people throughout the world for over 30 years now ... a common theme is that when visiting the UK, particularly London, they want to see 'the sights' and there appears to be a universal fascination with the British monarchy, both historic and current ... yes, Buckingham Palace would still be Buckingham Palace even if nobody lived there ... but the idea that the Queen (or now King) might be in there whilst they snap away with their cameras or phones is a unique selling point, without doubt ...
I was seeing the May day protests today in France on the TV. Protesting against their president and there were snatch squads out on the street. Snatch squads ffs - something they do in Russia. Then I look at Trump who caused civil unrest, then Biden who is away with the fairies - people need to think through this things before getting rid of the Royals, what alternative do they want.
You're English, though. Your heritage should never come first. I'm of Italian heritage. My family only come to this country 100 years ago. I don't give a fcuk about Italy. I'm English. This is the country I know and love, the country that has given me a great life and opportunity.
