Good Morning. It's Friday 28th April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

'It’s not quite all harmony' at ER

Former Leeds Ladies, now football pundit Lucy Ward, has suggested a dressing room rift at Elland Road could explain why Wilfred Gnonto has been frozen out of the first XI in recent games. The 19yo has been used sparingly since returning from International duty with a sprained ankle over five weeks ago, yet sources close to the club insist he's at 100% peak fitness since the Liverpool game.

After retiring, Ward stayed behind at Elland Road, becoming Head of Education and Welfare. Her 17 year association ended in 2015 after she was sacked by Massimo Cellino for gross misconduct. Ward had the final laugh though, after successfully suing the club for £290,000.

“Why are they not playing Gnonto. I don’t know what it is. I’ve heard little whispers that have gone in the background where it’s not quite all harmony. Managers don’t leave really good players on the bench for no reason,”

All Leeds players have relegation clauses in their contracts

All Leeds players have relegation clauses in their contracts; that's according to a recent article in the Daily Mail (so it must be true). Whilst it can be argued that many of the players have been robbing Leeds blind this season, the efforts of Rodrigo, Gnonto, Adams and even Meslier will not go unnoticed by Europe's elite as they begin to circue around LS11.

"While Radrizzani would lose out Leeds as a club are well-placed to cope financially in the event of relegation.
Gracia’s players all have relegation clauses in their contracts stipulating significant pay-cuts in the Championship, while funds could also be raised by the sale of Italian striker Wilfried Gnoto, who is valued at £30m just nine month after his £3m signing from FC Zurich."

Saints are all but down, but who will follow

Southampton are set to become the first top flight relegation casualties of the season, following their narrow
1-0 defeat against South Coast rivals Bournemouth last night. Now six points clear (36) of Leeds, it means that the plucky Cherries should live to fight another season.

Everton, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest and Leeds will fight it out to try to avoid the final two, one-way tickets back to the Championship, with four to play. How many points are needed to spend another season in the promised land?

    AC Milan plotting Adams capture

AC Milan are plotting a 15m move for Tyler Adams this Summer according to reports from Italy. Much will depend on whether the Whites can stay up, but as things stand, it doesn't look particularly hopeful. The 24yo has been one of only a few success stories in recent times. Losing him to hamstring surgery at such an important time in the season, typifies the luck bestowed on our great club.

Morning all take no notice of lucy ward she knows nothing. The only reason gnonto is not playing is garcia is inept. For some reason only known in his head he prefers Aaronson the grass cuddler.

Morning all. At least results went right way last night. Can't see the pay cuts being that relevant as the top earners, supposedly better players, will all look for greener pastures. None of them will be interested in a 46 game season in the Championship and they'd have to reduce their rolling about a fair bit. Four points could keep us up if we avoid battering from City and Newcastle to desert our goal difference. Anything but a win Sunday and we won't be getting four points. As for the Willy business, if there's been a falling out, why is he on the bench. More likely we've to pay a bonus if he plays again <yikes>

Bournemouth look as though they have now saved themselves, while we on the other hand are still relying on other results to save us, totally surprised at the tonking Everton took from Newcastle last night, Now here's a side possibly worse than us, "yes they could be !! impossible as it may seem" Dyche not the genius that up to yesterday i thought, Now looks as though it's us or Everton for that third and finale place, long may this Everton form continue.
As for this so called dressing room rift, these overpaid players should put their differences aside, and get Leeds out of this mess, which they themselves have put us in.
I personally was impressed with the suggestion that the team should get to the next away fixture on the fan's coaches, so actually see what this club means to the average Joe, wouldn't do them any harm at all. Could see Bielsa organising something like that :).

So is it your idea that the fans travel down the day before with the players ?

The club pays all travel, hotel costs etc, plus as the fans are assisting the team all the fans get paid a salary for 2 days as well.

Hey if it works and keeps us up it might catch on.

Think I forgot about the fans getting a win bonus as well <ok>

Admittedly not very likely but worth a try.

Absolutely not. The fans travel the morning in time for kick off. Let players do the same. They go a day early and usually don't make kick off or any other part of the game either

Today is the day we may get a bit of good news as the 21s play away at WBA in their final game of the season. Leeds need a draw to win the league and automatic promotion. If they can pull this off it’s a great performance to bounce straight back up after being relegated last season. We all know why they were relegated but this season the 21s have been left alone to get on with it.

Southampton and Leeds are on the same points at the top but they are top on goal difference. If we lose we go into the play offs for the final promotion slot

It's surely worse to be on the bench, closer to the action, knowing you're not going on.

To be blunt that’s a big “so what” for me if none of them are good enough to step up to the first team, which is surely the point of them.

Big miss is sini he's scored 7 in 15 appearances if I'm correct but like seemingly a lot of our squad he's made of wafer....if today's lot had to turn out when Billy, norman and co did they would have been permanently prostate on the treatment table probably never to be heard from again ;)
